"I have been choosing Sofitel BKC as my preferred stay in Mumbai since 2014.
This stay was the first time i noticed that the hotel is ageing and things have changed.
Cleanliness or finishing quality in shower enclosure bottom and corners was questionable.
There were patches of dust in some corners in the room.
The smart tv was not opening any apps like YouTube or Netflix despite being connected to hotel Wi-Fi. I connected it to my phone hotspot to watch RC.
I remember earlier French press coffee jar and ground powder was standard issue in rooms. Now one gets sleepy owl coffee, which is not high end.
Towels smelt of bleach. Literally a day earlier i stayed at nearby Trident and their towels were smelling fresh and floral.
All above points to substantial cost cutting measures affecting guest experience.
Staff hospitality & attitude remains top notch.
This stay alone has not dissuaded me from choosing them next stay but i will keep my eyes peeled in future!"
