"Let's just say, I will definitely return. Clean, design like, minimal hotel. Private access to one of the best beaches in the South. Staff are friendly and the place feels homely. Easy access to local beach bars, restaurants, the train station, etc. Walk, tuk tuk, book a car via the hotel. "Great location far enough away from Mirissa. Peaceful and welcoming staff. Difficult to find a spot to swim in the ocean but possible to take a dip. Hotel pool wasn’t cleaned early enough for us to swim one morning (not open until after 8). Sri Lankan brekkie available as well as eggs and Gandon’s style, serving sizes were very generous. "

"I can't imagine there being a better place in Galle. Peaceful. Quiet. Lovely owner. She was so nice to us, my wife was pregnant and even let us stay a bit longer whilst we waited for our taxi as she wasn't feeling well. What a lovely human being! We were welcomed with drinks and a hotel towel. Breakfast was amazing. Staff are really nice. Highly recommend."

The breakfast is really nice and the property overlooks great views of Galle lighthouse. PickMe offers cheap Tuk Tuks/taxis to unawatuna/ galle. Overall had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend! "

"My wife and I had the most amazing experience in this hotel. From the staff, the food, the cocktails, the amenities, everything was splendid. They really do go the extra mile to make your trip wonderful. Kudos to Ronald and team for making our stay great. "It’s a convenient distance from unawatuna beach and Galle fort. If you’re only down south for a weekend, or for your first time I highly recommend. Excellent service, great breakfast, calm and pleasant private beach. Beautiful sunsets. "

"A hotel with a nice view. Run a little like a homestay with a friendly host with 3 dogs. Main issue, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, is that there is a steep climb up the driveway. Taxis will not get up it ! The hotel provides a tuk-tuk shuttle to get bags etc as well as a courtesy lift whenever you press the bell (up to 9pm). Not a place to stay if you have bad knees. I did think the hotel was pricey for what we got. Pool is simple but we loved it . Food was lovely too. However....

"The location is awesome. The rooms are well designed and at a high quality standard (e.g. marble tiles in the bathroom. Bidet..) Bungalow with sea view - unbeatable. The location is not directly at the beach, but at an elevated location inside a forest area. So the view is incredible and super quiet. No street noise or smoke. Instead one can enjoy nature sound, birds, butterflies, some monekys climbing the trees and sometimes leguans and view at the sea the same time.The staff is very friendly....

"Thambilli House was just terrific, rooms, staff, open areas, pool and location ideal for a Galle Fort visit. This was our 3rd stay at The Fort and by far the best accommodation so far. Only surprise was that the room did not have a bar fridge, quite unusual from our perspective."

"I loved this hotel so much. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean and historic. The pool was amazing and the grounds were great. Above all of it was that the staff was so incredible. They were helpful and kind. I was traveling alone and the restaurant manager was completely helpful to me, giving me tips and also prepared a special seafood meal for me that was one of the best i have ever had. I will definitely come back here next time im in Sri Lanka! "

"We had an amazing time at Jungle Village with such a lovely warm and friendly welcome from all the staff. The property is simply stunning - a real jungle scene with birds and monkeys all around. Our room was large and spacious with glass all the way round for excellent views and we had our own balcony too. It’s a short tuk tuk ride from Unawatuna beach or a walk to jungle beach if you prefer something a little quieter. The owners clearly have a passion and vision for what they are trying to...
