My husband and I decided last minute to escape the rainy Central Valley, and go to Villa Caletas. After reading reviews,it sounded like just the right place.Words cannot describe how beautiful it is.From the long drive up to the hotel,to checkin, and then to our Junior Suite, everything was perfect. The suite has an amazing view, and a jacuzzi on the patio. Its a one bedroom, and there is another bed in the living room. The only fault for me,was so many steps to the suite. And I do mean alot(maybe 50 or more)Downhill its not bad,but everytime you want to go to the restaurants or pool, its up the steep hill.Pool area is really nice, and so is the private pebble beach. We drive our car to the beach, but there is daily shuttle as well.Really pretty beach, with sun loungers for 2,and a bar for drinks and food.We also had breakfast and lunch at the Amphitheater restaurant, both were good. All the staff are really nice, always saying Buenos Dias, with a smile. We both really enjoyed this beautiful hotel, and will definitly come back(maybe Christmas)
I was due this excellent wonderful experience after the last holiday I took at a resort in Guanacaste CR. All that aside, LOS SUENOS IS THE REAL DEAL! If you are looking for quality across the board then look no further. Los Suenos has it all...
I just left Zephyr Palace for my honeymoon and it was AMAZING! I don't have one complaint. We stayed in the Egyptian and the room exceeded our expectations. There was a nice jacuzzi in our bathroom (preferred that over Jacuzzi on balcony), and the views from our balcony were so beautiful. I was a little concerned about insects after reading some reviews, but we had no issues...and we were in the middle of the rainforest for goodness sake. Be realistic. We took advantage of the excursions coordinated by Concierge; they made it very easy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would absolutely go back! Best. Honeymoon. Ever.
We just came back from 8 nights at this hotel and would highly recommend this as a place to stay for families. We have a 10 + 12 year old, and they spent most of their time in the pool and exploring the beach out the front. Also, great surfing right out front of the resort. It's not a 5-star resort, but the apartments are spacious, very comfortable and well setup with a full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and air conditioning. If you have young children, it is worth requesting a ground floor apartment close to the pool as that is where you will be spending all your time. They have staff at the front gate and at the beach entrance 24 hours a day and they were very friendly and helpful. Any maintenance issues were addressed immediately. We stopped in at the well stocked supermarket AutoMercado in the Herradura Plaza which is only a few minutes drive north (also sells alcohol - pretty much the same price as duty free from what we saw). The only downside was the loud music from Claritas bar next door that went very late a few nights of the week.

My husband and I stayed in Condo 603 at Daystar the Palms for 3 nights in April 2014. The condo is VERY nice – clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and has a huge balcony with a beautiful view of the beach. The condo has a washer/dryer and a dishwasher, and the kitchen is stocked with all the necessary dishes, utensils, Tupperware, etc. I also like that the condominium is gated with a security guard. There were a couple different guards on duty during our stay and both of them were very friendly and helpful. Overall I enjoyed our stay and experience in Jaco; however, if you’re looking to spend some time at the beach you might want to find a place where the water is calmer and not so dirty. I highly recommend Condo 603 to anyone traveling to Jaco, Costa Rica!
