"The hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet location with stunning views of the loch from the lounge and dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful but service at evening dinner was very slow at times. The hotel is small and was built about 10 years ago. It appears to have been originally well specified at the time but, being hyper- critical, 10 years' use is starting to show up now in places. Nevertheless we would be happy to stay again, especially if the perfect weather could be...

"Breakfast and restaurant food was fabulous, staff were fabulous. Just pay overnight parking only 5 minutes walk away. It’s summer, our room was quite warm but I removed the doona from the cover and left the window open. Being above a pub on a Saturday night I thought it would be noisy but we didn’t have any issue. I can’t wait to go back. "

"Beautiful location (waterfront), extremely friendly and helpful staff, close to lots of walkable dining options,…. Only con was that there were very few close parking spaces. One night we ended up parking in a pay to park lot about 5-10 minutes walk away. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Still would recommend this hotel if staying in Portree."

"Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The lovely Maryanne and the mischievous Angus were perfect hosts. The room has an amazing view, the bed, bathroom and everything was 'just so.' we had a great night sleep and then to top it off, the best breakfast. Thanks Maryanne! "We chose Hame for its fairly central to Skye, but not-in-a-town location, and were not disappointed. "A lovely little cottage on Uig Bay owned by the hoteliers of the Uig Hotel. A wonderful breakfast was included at the hotel a 10-15 minute walk away. Our room had an ensuite and a beautiful view of the bay. Parking was easily accessible. Information on dining, historic places, hikes, pubs, etc. was readily available from the hotel staff. Service & staff were exceptional. If there was ever a place to get lost & press the reset button, the Isle of Skye was it for us! Enchanting."

"Jane was an amazing hostess! The night we arrived, she prepared us tea and delicious strawberry crumpets, it was a lovely gesture after the journey getting to her lovely house. Her breakfasts were wonderful and she was very helpful in helping us decide which hikes/walks to do while on Skye. "We loved our stay at Ridge Edge Cottage! The neighbors (and their dog) were wonderful and it was so fun to live among the locals for a few nights. You have everything you need here including a washing machine (no dryer). The dishes were not all clean in the cabinet but that was an easy fix with the dish soap provided. It is quite far from Portree (45-60 minutes) but well worth the drive. "
