"For couples and young people (Deluxe Ocean view)"
I have to start by saying that I had 5 amazing days in this hotel. The staff is amazing, they really made an effort to make us feel extremely comfortable. The food was definitely better than I expected but the drinks were just good. The wines were good, others not so good. Just two options for beer was kind of disappointing. However, Amstel and Polar were really good beers. Activities at the hotel were really cool, specially V-ball if you find good players. The sunset is beautiful and if you have the opportunity ask for room 2503 or similar, the view from my room was fantastic.
If it is in your budget rent a car for one day and head out to Westpoint and visit all the beaches on the way back (Port Marie, Knip, Lagun, Cas abao). In Lagun walk the stair up to the top of the right hill and take a nice drink on the bar with an amazing view. If you have the equipment do some snorkling on these places. I rented the car in El Alamo in the Lions Dive because it was cheaper than others (There is one renting place at the Sunscape, Hertz, and I did not know it until I got there, lack of info I guess). There is no transportation from or to the hotel, at least in my package from Expedia; I heard the hotel changed that recently, which meant that I had to pay 40$ per trip on taxi, keep that in mind. Go to the Boulevard close to the hotel it is very nice. All the services in the hotel were really good.
It was an amazing option and I would recommend it blindly to anyone
We used this hotel as a quick overnight between Bonaire and Miami. The hotel is in a great city location in what looks like the historic district and within walking distance of the coast. The hotel is an old monastery with the room doors right off a central enclosed court yard. It is not the Marriott, but it is nicely restored- love the historic charm. The staff was very friendly and accommodated us in our very early checkout. We did not get to try the breakfast, but you ordered what you wanted the night before instead of buffet style. Hotel staff arranged all the taxi service for us to and from the airport and gave us a nice welcome drink of sweet tea on our arrival. The beds were comfy, the shower hot, and the price was reasonable....all you could ask for. We would stay there again.
Very nice welcome by the staff, who were also very nice as to prepare my arrival by emailing me to ask for my time of arrival. Lovely place with SWIMMING POOL, COOKING FACILITIES EN SUITE, HOMELY. Ideal for a long or short stay, probably RELATIVELY CHEAPEST AND BEST accomodation in CURRACAO of those advertised! PERSONALLY I WOULD AVOID CURRACAO WHEN TRAVELLING ON A BUDGET. BUT IF YOU MUST, THEN THIS IS A NICE PLACE! A BIT NOISIER ON WEEKENDS WITH THE NEIGHBOURING BAR AND STUDENT ACCOMODATION... BUT QUICKLY GETS QUIET AGAIN AFTER MIDNIGHT. *WHEN IMMIGRATING TO CURRACAO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CASH ON YOU AND CREDIT CARD, AS WELL AS RESERVED PLACE TO STAY, IMMIGRATION CAN BE DIFFICULT AND IF YOU HAVE NOT ENOUNGH MONEY ON YOU OR ALL BOOKINGS DONE AND PAID FOR, YOU MIGHT BE DETAINED IN A PRISON CELL UNTIL YOU CAN BUY A TICKET OUT (WITH CASH OR CREDIT CARD ONLY)... WITH NO INTERNET SERVICES AND ONLY 2 PHONE CALL TIMES A DAY, AND NO PROPER FOOD! AS HAPPENED TO ME! YES, CURACAO IS INDEPENDENT AND NOT DUTCH TERRITORY ALTHOUGH THE LAW IS WRITTEN IN DUTCH ONLY AND YOU WILL NEED TO READ IT TO UNDERSTAND IT, FOR NOBODY WILL TRANSLATE IT FOR YOU WHEN YOU ARE BEING DETAINED AND ASKED TO SIGN A FORM OF VERBAL PROCESS AS YOU ARE TAKEN INTO PRISON!
If you want to go on a vacction not to expencive and you want to relax, this hotel is very good. Not to crowded and not to fare from the beach. The rooms are clean, only the bathroom needs a air freshner. Because if somebody in a nother room went to the bathroom you can smell it in your bathroom. Overall for that rate the hotel was okay.
"Boutique hotel feel with family friendly attitude!"
This is a wonderful hotel for families with children. It is small & quiet with easy short walk to the beach. The staff is very accommodating. We had problems with our air conditioning and the staff was responsive that night. It was fixed the next morning. You have unlimited entrance to the Sea Aquarium, which is wonderful. There is a free daily shuttle to the grocery store. You can get a rental car delivered to your room. Restaurants within walking distance are limited but the food was good. Get the grouper at Augustos. You can take the bus and walk across the floating bridge to Otrobanda. The best food we had was at Steak & Ribs at Rif Fort. Since we have a preschooler, we opted to use the public bus for 9 guilders each way. We took the money we would have spent on car rental and used it for myself and our daughter to have an encounter with a dolphin (in the water, standing on a platform you can learn about, pet & kiss him). Curaçao is a beautiful island!
