"Our second visit here and it was as good as our first. No doubt we will be back! Friendly welcoming place. Meals excellent. There was a quiz whilst we were there which we did. We found out and need to remember ‘Barnsley’ will be an answer!!"

"Excellent 10 out of 10. Our 3 day Xmas period stay with our dog was from arrival absolutely superb. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful; the room was warm, comfortably and clean. The food throughout our stay was excellent with a menu to suit everyone and the Xmas lunch was fantastic. This is definitely a place to revisit."

"When you pull up, you are thinking you are getting an average hotel; nothing special. But when you walk through the door, it’s like going through the Twilight Zone. The lobby is excellent. The room was recently updated; very clean and comfortable. Very impressed, and it is just off the motorway. What’s not to like. Very pleased. "

"Form the moment i arrived i could not ask for more off the staff with working till very late the night porter made as both a hot drink when we came back the restaurant staff was amazing also and the grounds man to thank you will stay again "

"Fabulous spot in the heart of Askrigg. Great bar and food, especially breakfast. Only tiny negative, the tv is about the size of a PC monitor and reception on anything other than BBC is non existent. That said, you don’t go to watch TV. Everything else is great. "

"The door on the pod we stayed in did not lock, we had to take our belongings with us and leave it unlocked. Otherwise amazing place, lovely food and staff."

"Lovely hotel, only thing that let it down was the very squeaky floor boards which meant I was woke up quite a few times during the night and then at 5.30am when someone wasn’t too considerate and was banging about in the hallway. Did also have someone late at night chapping my door and running away. Let it down a bit unfortunately "

"The radiator in the room didn't work. I went to see the staff, and the boiler wasn't switched on, which is very strange for January !!. The boiler was on but the radiator didn't work on either day of my visit. 2 heaters were provided, but the person in charge wasn't aware of the issue with the boiler/radiator, which was poor in my view."

"Stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the room and the breakfast was really good. However we decided to order a snack from the menu one evening. I ordered a sandwich, the menu stated fresh bloomer bread, brown or white, tuna, spring onion, mayonnaise and black pepper. When I received this it was 2 thin slices of 50/50 bread, no spring onion and the thinnest filling of tuna, more like spread. The charge for this was £8.00!! Definitely not worth the cost."
