Referred to as the “third world of Shanghai”, Putuo is densely populated, with older-style apartments and challenging traffic conditions. The area is mostly residential and relatively handy to the international airport at Pudong. Sights include the famous Yufo Buddhist Temple, the ancient Zhenru Si Temple, and Changfeng Park, where colorful festivities are held each autumn and spring.
