We stayed at Los Aticos for almost a week before and after trekking. We found the staff to be excellent, extremely helpful and informative, and we very much enjoyed out stay here. The location is two blocks from everyplace one needs to be in Cusco, but it is nice a quiet because it is located on an alley. Priced very reasonably for this level of comfort and service!
The staff here is incredible. They have been on top of everything and extremely helpful. The rooms are nice, includes a standing oil filled radiator for heat, comfortable beds, my only complaint, really, is that the floor is hard wood and COLD.
The wifi works fairly well (some days not so good, but that probably depends on who's using it), and the lounge areas (Zona de Wifi) are nicely maintained and comfortable.
Breakfast is basic and good - eggs, potatoes, juice, cereal, bread, cheese, ham, fruit, etc.
The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes above the main square. It takes some getting used to walking uphill at this elevation for this sea level girl, but definitely doable, just take it slow!
We arrived at noon and they welcomed us with a nic cup of coca tea. They also shared with us a map of cuzco for our reference. Next day we left the hotel very early to Machu Pichu snd they got up to give us a continental breakfast.
"Not a hostal, close to the center of old district"
This is a little gem! We were practically the only guests for the 10 days we were here. (January) Breakfast is included and the showers were great! Private bathrooms in your room, so that's why I don't consider this a hostal. We walked all over the neighborhood as well as Centro. We had the best rooms in the place, with windows to the outside. The rest of the rooms seem a little dark.
