10/10 — My girlfriend and I recently stayed at St. Francis Resort, and it was absolutely beautiful. If you’re looking to truly get away and experience Exuma without the crowds of a typical resort, this is the place.
The bungalow-style accommodations sit on a hillside overlooking the ocean, with solar power and rainwater catchment that add to the unique, eco-friendly feel. Just steps away is a pristine beach that we essentially had to ourselves. At times, it genuinely felt like our own private island.
You arrive by a quick boat ride from Georgetown to Stocking Island, and the staff is fantastic. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and willing to arrange anything we needed. We chose the all-inclusive option, and the food was excellent.
There’s plenty to explore. You can kayak over to Chat ’N’ Chill for fresh conch salad and a souvenir shop, or head up the shore to Coconut Club. Some guests rented their own boats, and St. Francis also has a boatman who can take you wherever you’d like to go.
Our room didn’t have a TV, but that turned out to be a positive — we actually unplugged and enjoyed the incredible surroundings.
Beautiful, peaceful, unpretentious, and a completely different experience from a conventional resort. Huge thank you to the entire staff for taking such great care of us. We would absolutely come back. 10/10!

If you wish to stay on a lovely small houseboat in the beautiful turquoise water of a quiet island this is it. The resort restaurant is a two minute walk with great Bahamian cuisine. Part of the week hiking about and lying on the empty beaches. Lots of sailboat cruisers around to chat with and other areas of interest. The most relaxing vacation I have ever taken.
