Had a lovely stay, the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Nice hotel in a very quiet and pleasant place by the beachfront.

⭐ Beautiful property, wonderful people, but the service falls far short of a luxury resort This is a difficult review to write because The Residence Zanzibar is a genuinely beautiful property, and there were aspects of our stay that we loved. Unfortunately, the overall service experience was so consistently disappointing that I cannot rate our stay more than one star. The biggest issue was the internet, which did not work properly in our room for essentially our entire stay. This is particularly problematic at a resort where cellular coverage is already extremely limited. Wi-Fi isn’t simply a nice amenity in that situation — it is your primary way to communicate and stay connected with the outside world. I raised the issue with the hotel probably 5–7 times during our stay. Eventually, I simply gave up. At a property positioning and pricing itself at this level, having guests repeatedly report the same fundamental problem without it being resolved is unacceptable. The second frustration was the hotel’s approach to room delivery and additional charges. There is a $10 charge to deliver anything to your room, even something as simple as coffee. Despite that charge, room deliveries routinely took 45–60 minutes, and on multiple occasions the coffee was cold by the time it arrived. If you are going to charge a premium specifically for delivery, the service needs to justify it. We also booked half board, with breakfast and dinner included, but bottled water at meals was approxim

The property is a gated resort about 1 - 1.5 hour drive from the airport and Stone Town. It is a typical Jamaican/Mexican/Costa Rican higher-end resort. I had the fortune of staying in one of the newer rooms, so the room was nice with all updated amenities. The mattress firm, which is not to my taste, so that would be my only complaint. The property is very well maintained two pools and a lovely beach. I am more of a beach person and the permanently affixed grass umbrellas provided ample shade from the sun. The food was excellent! I loved the soups on the menu each evening. I informed the staff that I had dairy allergy and they made every accommodation to fit my needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property offers a ranges of tours, so that you can enjoy other aspects of Zanzibar. There are currently sea urchins in the water, so you will need to watch were you step in the water. Yoga is offered daily except Wednesday and Sunday and the instructor is awesome. I also had two massages, both were very good for the price. No real complaints.

Room was beautiful as well resort was stunning. It was perfect stop in our honeymoon trip trough Zanzibar Staff is friendly and helpful. It is 5min from Paje but so much more beautiful then hotels/resorts there Highly recommend...and we will come back

I enjoyed the clean environment, slept better on clean very comfortable bed with AC on. It was a lovely experience for me and my son.
