The breakfast was alright but would have hoped for more. The pool was nice and clean, but unfortunately in the shade for the majority of the day. The room had a balcony which was only accessible by clambering up onto a windowsill and outside - shame as it was a nice place to sit and enjoy the sun!

Nice hotel in a great area for sightseeing

Hotel is located on the outskirts of Verona and takes approx. 15 mins walk to the centre & approx. 10 mins to the station (which was a positive). Property is tired and requires a large investment for renovation. Hotel is classified as a 4 star but is more like a 3 star, rooms do not have an iron or ironing board, every day I had to request milk/cream for tea in my bedroom. A kettle was provided but the plug did not fit in the socket. European adaptors did not fit in many of the sockets. One particular day the rain was awful and when I returned to the hotel I asked if my trousers could be dried and was told "no". I questioned if they had a laundry service and was told that they were unable to launder my trousers, again, for a 4 star hotel I would expect this service to be available. TV in the room was not working and had to request maintenance to visit. Fridge in the room did not work and tap in the bathroom needed maintenance as each time you turned it on, it made an horrendous noise. Overall an 'OK' hotel but would not stay again if I was in Verona.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Castel Hörtenberg in Bolzano. The location is truly perfect—peaceful and tucked away, yet just a short walk to the heart of the city, making it ideal for exploring while still feeling like a private retreat. The entire hotel is immaculate. Every space, from the rooms to the common areas, is spotless and beautifully maintained, creating a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. They are kind, professional, and incredibly accommodating—always going above and beyond to ensure every detail of your stay is perfect. Overall, Castel Hörtenberg delivers a flawless blend of elegance, comfort, and warm hospitality. It’s the kind of place that turns a trip into an experience—and one I would return to without hesitation.

This is a very old hotel. The staff is not the friendly kind you would expect. The room was ok, good enough for one night, but the bathroom would benefit from a remodel for sure! Breakfast was very good, great coffee, but overall would not go back. We actually left after one night instead of staying 2 as planned and found us a nicer place....and of course had to pay for it

Amazing service and upgrade

We cannot say enough about this hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating from the minute. We walked in till the minute we left. The room was incredible. The grounds were breathtaking. Dinner was exceptional every night. This was our favorite part of our trip so far if you are going to be traveling to Lake Gorda make this year destination. The small town is a great place to explore and go to the other busier parts of Lake guard of. We love love love this hotel.

1minute walk from the arena and the pedestrian zone. Really easy to get around the old town as a result. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
