North East England Waterpark Holidays

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel over the last few years both midweek and on a weekend. The staff are always excellent and especially on the reception desk this time. They were very helpful with the carparking. The only complaints we have is that the breakfast could be warmer although there was plenty of choice. We are usually out and about ourselves on the evenings but as we were moving on to another hotel / venue for saturday afternoon and night we went back early and noticed how noisy it was outside. This did have an effect on our sleep even after an 8 hour drive earlier in the day. We thought we would have slept well but this wasnt the case as we slept better on our previous stays.

The pool was gorgeous. It was a bit tricky downloading the app on the phone to open the door. The app would just shut down and it took at least ten tries. Staff was wonderful. Helpful and kind. Dinner was average. I ordered a cauliflower steak which was good, but a very high price for just a large piece of cauliflower. The map to walk around the grounds was confusing and I ended up on the golf course, which didn’t make some Of the golfers happy. Bed was one of the best I’ve ever slept in.

The staff made our experience fabulous. Everyone we met was helpful, friendly and accommodating. I am disabled and needed to use a mobility scooter to get around, nothing was too much bother. The first room was difficult to access for me, we informed reception and were seamlessly and quickly moved to another room. The restaurants, expecially Fusion were amazing, the food was some of the best we have had! We celebrated our wedding anniversary and my husbands birthday, we were treated to a special desert and our room was decorated with rose petals, towel art and complimentary chocolates. I had read mixed reviews, however, our experience was first class. Yes some areas need touching up a little, having said that, the staff made our visit amazing. Due to medical conditions I didnt know if I would be able to use the spa facilties, Lilly to the rescue!! She escorted us to a different access point, where I was able to park my scooter much nearer, she checked I was able to access the hydrotherapy pool safely, this small act of kindness had an enormous impact on my wellbeing, she made such a difference, what lovely people they all are. Whatever they did, they did with a smile and genuinely cared. The only suggestion I have for improvement would be to have a sign in the car park asking guests using room facilities for events, to respect others by not drivng around the car park at speed or sit revving engines for over an hour, whist blocking access. Hot breakfast was luke warm at 6.30 am. Kitchen sorted out quickly

we enjoyed the stay overall. The rooms are big (2 bed apartment). Bathrooms were nice. Just a shame that the sofas were grubby and stained - but we were only there for one night, so didn’t use them. Would return again
