Portugal Waterpark Holidays

The apartment was very spacious and clean. The pool area was quiet with enough loungers. The small pool side bar restaurant served breakfast, lunch and dinner all very nice.

Queues for everything here. Checking took nearly an hour, queues for sun beds, for food (I’ll get to the food), for drinks (you can get only 2 drinks per person, so a family of 4 need 2 members to go to the bar). Always running out of drinks around the pool. The food was terrible. I stayed for 6 days and ate in the hotel only 4 times. The worst cuts of “meat” used which resulted in mainly bones. Oh and the “kebab hut” took 30 mins to queue up for and 1 per person. So again, if the family want to eat from a snack bar they all need to queue for half an hour together. Really not what you expect from a hotel billing themselves as 4 star. Staff didn’t want to help with anything. Bars closed at 11, but last orders at 10.30 and lights turned off and kicked out at 11. You can then head to the piano bar, but must pay for the same drinks that you were just consuming in the beach bar. Additionally a security guy (PSG logo on T-shirt) would come around the pool each day at 4pm and aggressively “police” what was happening: people messing about in the pool, throwing a ball in the pool (yes! A ball!), sitting on the side of the pool drinking. All things that people were allowed to do for the 7 hours that not a single staff member was there, but at 4pm suddenly there were rules. The staff were predominantly not Portuguese and there was a huge language barrier. Don’t stay here

The rooms were clean when we arrived but the kitchen had oils or left over residue on the handles so felt a bit gross opening and closing them. The tables were definitely were not wiped and some of the furnishing had been water stained but that's from other guest usage. Bed comfy enough tho. Bath looked a bit gross. Don't know if it's residue staining or mould or just dirty.

We were in the furthest away 721 a good 12 to 15 minutes to reception. There was a pool nearby but the kids couldn’t go there on their own as in other resort where we could watch and see them this wasn’t possible. The accommodation we had was absolutely amazing very clean had everything you could want but the location unfortunately was way too far away.

From the moment we were picked up at the airport, Carolina our driver and receptionist, was extremely pleasant, courteous, precise and always with a smile and happy to help (restaurant reservations, taxi arrangements, small breakfast for early morning before we left); other employees to recognize are Francisco and Claudia at the breakfast/dinner area as they were very attentive to us. Our room #11 was spacious, very clean with a beautiful open view of the Atlantic Ocean.Bed was very comfortable with three pillows for each guest. All white! Fruits and a liter bottle of water were provided at arrival in our room as well as a small bottle of water for each guest every day of our stay.Pool towels and a spacious bag for the pool area were provided. Breakfast was delicious and many varieties of fresh fruits on display. Varieties of fresh bread, cheeses. Omelette made upon request! Overall, I will highly recommend Albatroz Hotel! Thank you to the manager and the employees for making our stay a memorable experience!

We originally looked at booking in vilamoura ,but wanted something closer to the beach , this hotel fitted that bill perfectly, the location was fantastic in proximity to the beach, it was right in front of the hotel, we did bed and breakfast, the breakfast was very good, the rooms were really nice , and the cleaned daily , we had a sea view, which was lovely, staff were really friendly and extremely helpful, I can only find one negative, unfortunately the pool area was a bit small for the number of guests for the hotel , and beds were quickly taken , and quite tightly packed together,the hotel does have its own beach area , and you can book loungers and parasols , at the beach hut , for 15 euros a day , for 2 loungers and a parasol, we found this to be better than the pool area for us , but that was personal preference, on the whole I would definitely stay here again , Quarteira is a nice enough resort ,the promenade area of quarteria is lovely.
