We got the room we wanted after explaining it, they were accommodating. Will go back again. Only one small quibble in that the inner pool area could do with a bit of a clean.Other than that all good & would certainly recommend. (75 reviews) The staff went above and beyond. It was my girlfriends 30th birthday and while I was in the UK they helped to get things organised and things didn’t change once we got here. The best treatment, I could see the staff did this across the board for everyone at the hotel. They really couldn’t have helped more if they tried, from the manager, to the reception staff, bar staff and everybody else. Very pretty, warm welcoming and a overall amazing stay in a beautiful setting. A perfect hub for if you are basing yourself in Unawatuna. (68 reviews) 10/10 hotel. Would highly recommend to anyone. It’s so incredibly beautiful with such lush tropical vegetation throughout the whole hotel. The rooms are huge, beautifully presented with everything you need. The service is amazing, with such friendly and helpful staff at every corner of the hotel. Nothing is too much for anyone here! We came on our honeymoon and are leaving feeling like we want to revisit soon! The pools are really lovely also, and the beach (although rocky) is really nice. We travelled from Australia and stayed two nights in the Ocean room which was very spacious and clean with all the facilities you need. We had our Wedding Ceremony at the Fortress and there is simply no words to describe the wonderful experience we had. Every aspect of our wedding ceremony was professionally and meticulously arranged by the staff at the Fortress. From organising the necessary marriage documents to the floral arrangements, wedding bouquets and bower, decorations, cake, celebrant, music, photography, special celebratory dinner, and the list goes on., we couldn’t have been happier with all of these things and the very best service we received at the Fortress. A special mention to our wedding coordinator ‘GAYANI’ who went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding ceremony was successful and memorable. Her attention to detail and dedication to make sure we were happy with all the arrangements is something we will always remember and be grateful for. From the time we arrived until we checked out the service was exceptional. All the staff never fail to smile and greet us. The food was delicious & the atmosphere was refreshing.
