Lovely staff. Tasty food. Nice gardens. Beautiful pool area

The good: Bedroom was clean and large. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good. Bar was nice. The bad: Bad smell (drains?) in the bathroom and found a cockroach in there. Pool not open. To say our room (room 119, first floor) had a Mountain View would be pushing it a bit - yes there were mountains but the view basically was the road behind the hotel and the houses on it. If you are after a Mountain View room go as high as possible, but I would advise getting a sea view.

We had an excellent stay. The property is beautiful, very well maintained, and the breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The location was superb! The staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful & efficient. The room was spotless, the beds very comfortable, & the linen very clean. The seaview from the balcony was amazing. We enjoyed a lovely tapas supper & the service very good. The hotel overall is a little tired but the views & the friendly staff made our stay very memorable.

This is a lovely hotel I found while searching for places to stay 1 night on the coast from Marbella to Valencia. The staff is very friendly and we both spoke enough English and Spanish to feel comfortable. There is a quaint rooftop garden restaurant with good food and a charming staff. Breakfast was included with pastry and bread, ham and cheese and juices. Very traditional Continental breakfast. The cappuccino was delicious!! The price can’t be beat. I can’t speak as to what there is to do in Portman. It is a small and quiet town. We just stayed the one night as we passed through. But don’t hesitate to book a stay!
