Skalakot Manor was a gem surrounded by stunning scenery, and the most beautiful Icelandic horses
You really feel like you’re staying in someone’s home as a very special guest. The bedding was top-notch and the dining room food was fantastic. It is pricey, but very worth it.
And the staff is helpful, warm and welcoming. We can’t wait to stay there next time.

Our stay was excellent. The house was immaculate upon arrival, check-in was simple, and the kitchen had salt, pepper, oil, and two bottles of wine. Instructions are provided to guide you through usage of the hot pool and radiant floor heating. We were in house 2, which had a fire pit as well. For those who want to grill, we noticed a propane grill in the utility room on our last day. This was an exceptional stay with a great view and very responsive host. If we can come back, we will.

The place was clean and everything was good, but nobody told us that the water smelled so bad. We had to go buy bottled water in Iceland, even just to brush our teeth. We only stayed for one night, and we couldn’t shower because the smell of the water was so strong. It would have been helpful to know about this beforehand.
