Port Wine Route Mountain Holidays

The views are spectacular. The room was spacious with its own balcony overlooking the valley. Staff were super helpful and friendly. On site restaurant was excellent for wine and dinner. The breakfast buffet was huge with a ton of delicious options.

The staff at the front desk didn’t tell us we had to use two elevators to get to our room. Frustrating figuring out on your own. Unless you want to hang by the pool, there is absolutely nothing to do at this hotel. There is no nearby town to walk around , only the hotel surrounded by beautiful wine country. Also it’s a harrowing mountainous drive to get to this hotel. The roads are barely wide enough for a small SUV.

Would be useful if their website indicated that the best way to access the property is off the road between Alijo and Pinhao. Relying on Google is liable to send you down steep, narrow and twisty cobbled tracks! The hotel has fantastic views of the Douro valleys and vineyards. Our room was comfortable and the food at breakfast and dinner was good. The hosts are very pleasant.

Great hotel and great service. Amazing views of Duoro valley. But they have the worst coffee in the world literally. A shame they don’t think good coffee and a person that knows how to make it is important because that is one of the most understated luxuries in life. Starting your day with a great cup of coffee sets the tone for the rest of the day. What a disappointment.
