Pros: With a few exceptions, the hotel delivered on quality. The location was excellent, allowing walking to downtown, marina, little Italy and Balboa park (we like walking). The food was good and the staff were professional and courteous. The room was comfortable and the view was a perk.
Cons: The need to pay attention to all the extra fees. $50+/day to park, $50 amenity fee, $40/day for breakfast. We thought we'd do the hotel a favor and decline room service, with a request only to have coffee pods/water replaced, which ended up with a $10/day charge. The $23 food credit seems low when a regular burger is $28. The AC caused intermittent noises throughout the night that disturbed sleep. These aren't necessarily big deals, but leaves a poor impression that seems easily avoidable.

Beautiful hotel. Clean and wonderful mattress, linens and pillows. Dining was excellent. Especially breakfast. There are no shops in the hotel. Close uber ride to Balboa Park. Close to the airport- 10 min drive. Gaslamp district very very close but we are at the hotel.
