South Pacific Kid friendly Holidays

We stayed in a plunge pool room and the room and view are amazing, if you can, I'd recommend highly. The amenities are standard, nothing flashy which suited our needs. All the staff were top tier, couldn't say enough nice things about them. The problem does arise when it comes to food and beverage. The included breakfast is subpar (and I'm being polite). Was stuck having toast with jam all week. I attempted to order from the menu one morning and had the most disgusting looking french toast I've ever seen. Raw, not uncooked. Raw. To make it worse, they dumped the soupy egg mix on top of the bread and attempted to serve it too me. When I refused in an attempt to eat it and asked for it to be taken back, I witnessed the manager and waiter arguing over it. I don't know what was said, it made me uncomfortable.

Castaway Island was an absolutely wonderful place to stay for 7 nights with 2 kids (8 & 5yo). It was so incredibly relaxed, beautiful & fun. The staff somehow remembered our names which was amazing. I thought it was a Fijian thing, but at the next (fancier) resort we were reduced to madam & sir. Nothing was too much for the team. Once they even climbed a tree to cut a coconut for us. The resort is spectacularly located on the water on two sides; so if it’s windy on one side the other side will be calm. When we ate meals with the kids, we could relax to finish our coffee or drink while they played on the sand next to us. There’s so much to do - kids club, pools, beach, snorkelling, water adventure park, kayaking, paddle boarding, day trips, crab races, frog races, kids & Fijian performances - it was exhausting, in a good way. The other guests are generally very relaxed and friendly too. A perfect day was beach in the morning; pool for lunch; then kids club for the afternoon & evening. We appreciated the warmth, welcome & playfulness of the staff including Maria, Peni, Siteri, Saena, Alisi, Solomon, Dr Sili, Ima, Una, Mickey, Snow White, Maui, Peter Pan, Zac & Zan and the many many other wonderful team members whose names I can’t recall right now. Vinaka Castaway!!
