Prata Coast Kid friendly Holidays

I gave this hotel a 2 star due to the fact the check-in person did not warn us that we needed to put our room key in a slot near the door inside, to turn on the electricity. Our room was "oven hot" and after sweating for 5 minutes trying to figure out why it wouldn't turn on, I went into the even hotter bathroom to splash water on my face. When that light didn't turn on, we discovered why. It took hours to cool down but there was no air-conditioning in the bathroom the entire stay. The hair dryer was stuck to the wall so you had to blow dry your hair in there. There were no outlets in the bathroom either for a curling iron, etc. With a pool comes families with small children. It's amazing how 1 family with screaming kids at the pool because they were told it was time to go out, or screaming in the dining room, can change your pool, dining experience as a couple trying to enjoy as meal. This is not the hotel's fault but beware couples, pool equals small kids. Lastly we asked for two wine glasses and they charged us 2 euros for each, not to keep but borrow. I could understand if I asked them to open a bottle of wine but glasses? Really? The good news, they offered transportation to the beach because this hotel is so far, you can't walk there. There was room for our rental car and the food in the dining room was good. The room was clean but bring your own amenities for the bathroom theirs are not great. Find something closer to the beach. Skip the cold pool.

The deluxe villa is ideal for relaxation. Beautiful architecture, interior details and surroundings. Although property is in serious need of TLC - cleaning, painting, fixing up. It is a wonderful place, but not the condition you would expect for 5 star property.
