Gran Canaria Honeymoon Holidays

Firstly, a terrible location - not for those with mobility issues. The hotel is surrounded by dusty car parks, abandoned roads and people living in decrepit caravans. It backs onto a golf course so you have to walk around the entire course to get in, making my arrival (bus from the airport then a long walk!) unpleasant. When the hotel looks close on the map, it isn’t! It’s a 3km walk to a good supermarket. Half the swimming pools were closed and cordoned off with road barriers, ruining the pool views and the astro turf everywhere around the pool looks cheap. Loud euro pop music around the pool is a drawback and you can’t escape the noise of the evening entertainment in your own room. I was on the outer circle with terrace views ruined by the high cage around the surrounding golf course. On the plus side…the shuttle bus was reliable, room was ok (but no kettle / cups / glasses), breakfast was ok. The outdoor gym was probably good when installed. Needs servicing now but I still got a couple of workouts in. The main pool is a decent length if you like a swim. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We spent a fantastic week at this delightful hotel. It has a charming intimate ambiance thanks to its relatively small number of rooms. The staff are so friendly and helpful - . they take the trouble to get to know your likes and dislikes and no request is too much trouble. The hotel is magnificently situated overlooking the south coast from its eyrie on Mont Leon. The pool and terrace are beautifully placed to take the best advantage of its views. There are some well maintained and interesting gardens to explore with discreet areas placed every so often to relax in solitude. There are pool, table tennis, patio chess and table football to entertain if too much relaxation proves difficult! The breakfast buffet was excellent and the evening meal menu was changed every day offering some delicious dishes to explore... and it was a great treat to be able to try all the interesting cocktails on offer during the day as we relaxed by the pool. A truly luxurious and relaxing spa retreat at a very fair price.

Property itself was nice. Staff and visitors…not so much.
