Africa Gay friendly Holidays

The hotel has an incredible view. We stayed in an oceanfront suite. Everything was absolutely beautiful.

Such a wonderful 5* hotel to stay at! The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Excellent breakfast and the beef bobotie (my favourite SA dish, other than steak!) that I had for dinner was delicious. Nice large swimming pool (there is a second pool also). New gym with a lovely big window when you’re on the treadmill or the bike! Excellent new spa facilities also.

Beautiful property, horrible location - near district 6. When we checked in we had a drink at the bar to wait for our room. One of the hotel managers (in a blue sport coat) came over and went on a 30 minute rant about how unsafe Capetown was - and how unsafe the area around the hotel was and that we shouldn't walk around after dark. One night we ventured out for dinner (walking). When we returned a street security officer intercepted us on the way- told us how unsafe we were -and that he needed to escort us to the hotel. And then had his hand out for a payoff. This happened another night and we declined help. This is not my idea of a good location if this happens. We stayed previously on the V&A waterfront and had none of this nonsense. Also, one day we left our room to see some sights. My Husband forgot his cash on the desk (about $40 dollars in US currency). When we came back it was gone.
