Isla Contoy Fishing Holidays

I had a great stay overall. The trip was relaxing, enjoyable, and in a convenient location. I would rate it 79 out of 100. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The king bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and we always had hot water. The TV had good channels. Housekeeping did not replace our towels for a few days, and we noticed tiny black bugs in the room. Not sure if that is normal, but they were noticeable. Our room location was not ideal because we could hear loud guests in the hallway late at night, which sometimes woke us up. Most staff were friendly and attentive. Service was good in most restaurants, though when busy attention dropped a bit. Food was better than expected, not amazing but not bad. BBQ night at the buffet was good. Breakfast was okay and some items seemed reheated. One restaurant was the weakest, but the sushi spot and La Piña were very good. Fresh hashbrowns were a highlight. Pools were beautiful and the beach was gorgeous even with red flags most days. The coffee spot and jacuzzi pool areas were great. Weather was windy and cooler than expected but still enjoyable. Location is convenient, next to Oxxo, with Dominos and a pharmacy across the street, about 15 minutes from the Isla Mujeres ferry and 20 minutes from the main party area. Expedia VIP felt minimal. Just a labeled section, a $75 credit not stackable, upgrade only if available which we did not get, plus early and late check we did not need. Overall a solid stay.

It was great value. Clean and convenient. Food was delicious . People were friendly. A/C didn’t work well in one bedroom and we couldn’t get TV’s to connect to any streaming service and could not cast.

The room was in okay condition. I didn’t have a blow dryer and the iron I had to iron my clothes was in poor condition. When I called guest services they took 4 hours to bring to me after calling multiple times.

Staff was good, rooms were clean, food was made available except for a late night arrival. Pool temperature was colder than we expected, the gulf waters were a few degrees warmer than the pools.

Amazing food, relaxing place

The resort itself is cozy, well-maintained, and in a good location. The food was good, and the staff—especially servers and housekeeping—were professional and friendly. If our experience had ended there, this would have been a solid stay. Unfortunately, what ruined the trip entirely was the so-called “VIP card” presentation, which was misleading and aggressively pushed on us. We were told this would be a 90-minute presentation about a referral-style VIP card. In reality, it turned into nearly four hours of high-pressure sales tactics to get us to invest money into their vacation ownership program. We repeatedly tried to leave and were met with resistance, constant pressure, and guilt tactics. It felt forceful and extremely uncomfortable. This was especially frustrating because we were only there for four days, celebrating my wife’s 30th birthday, and we lost half a day of our vacation to this. The presentation tactics felt deceptive, not transparent. They intentionally overprice activities, services, and amenities to make it seem like the VIP card would save you a massive amount of money. That “savings” is misleading and designed to push you into a long-term financial commitment. Do not fall for it. Important advice to future guests: Decline the VIP card and any “presentation.” If you do, you’ll likely have a great time at the resort. If you don’t, be prepared for aggressive sales pressure that can seriously ruin your stay.

Beautiful place, very clean. Staff was friendly, courteous and very accommodating. Our only complaint was that the bed was harder than we were used to so our backs were hurting by the time we left.

Room was nice and clean great staff the room was beautiful and the place was amazing just the room we stood in 3019 that room is near the ice machine and the staff storage close by so sleeping wasn’t that great we heard noise all night would wake us up
