Lochalsh Fishing Holidays

Stayed 2 nights. Was better than expected in terms of the condition of the room/hotel. The room was also very clean. Swimming pool was fun for the little one. In this resort there are a number of Macdonalds hotels and we were happy with our choice as there was a direct link from the hotel to the leisure enter without leaving the building. The soft play is good too but the sitting area for parents could really benefit from a cafe, otherwise with couple of vending machines it looks rather sorry. The staff were ok but a lot less friendly than any of the other people we came across during our trip across Scotland. There are 4 Tesla superchargers at the back of the hotel but it’s often busy as there isn’t many chargers in the area and people come from outside the resort to use it. I didn’t have any issue early Sunday morning (and with charging a non Tesla).

Lovely spot with great accommodations

Hotel is in a lovely building, clearly been recently renovated and looks good, modern rooms and bathrooms. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Open fire in reception was lovely after a walk to the beach. Breakfast was good. Only complaints were that the room backed onto an extractor with a view of a metal roof and the pillows were quite thick

Overall, we had a good stay at The Garrison and most aspects of the hotel were positive. The location is excellent for exploring Fort William, and the main facilities were clean and well presented. Apart from parking, everything else met expectations and the staff were generally helpful. However, there were a few downsides. The single sofa bed was very uncomfortable and not suitable for a good night’s sleep. Also, there was ongoing construction work which started quite early around 8am — this was a bit disruptive, especially if you had the window open as some dust could come into the room. Another small inconvenience was the access to reception. Having to go through multiple doors made it feel less straightforward than it should be, especially when arriving with luggage. Overall, a decent stay with a few areas that could be improved to make the experience much better.

Wonderful hosts - Graham and Sheena are extremely focused on making everyone’s stay memorable. The beds are extremely comfy too! Beautifully kept carriage house in a central spot to visit many gems in the area. Was a very relaxing enjoyable stay!

Lovely clean comfortable room, wonderful food, service at breakfast fantastic. Slightly let down by reception and bar staff service. No non alcoholic cocktails available.

Dry comfortable room

Greenland House is a charming, large detached stone-built bed and breakfast that immediately sets the tone for a warm and relaxing stay. The property embraces a distinctive Highland theme throughout, with each room thoughtfully named after Scottish clans and decorated with tasteful tartan soft furnishings that add character without feeling overdone. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome, creating a comfortable and friendly atmosphere right from the start. The rooms were well-appointed and had everything you’d expect, including tea and coffee-making facilities, making it easy to settle in and unwind. One of the standout features is its fantastic location—just a two-minute drive from the stunning Dunnett Beach, which is well worth a visit for its sweeping sands and beautiful coastal views. A wide choice of cooked or continental breakfast was on offer and off road parking available. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The combination of a welcoming host, comfortable accommodation, and a great location made it an easy choice for us—we would definitely return
