(814 reviews) Internet and phone connection is pretty spotty, I had to go outside to make calls on my phone, and connection spoed sliw. The rooms are dated sone, I couldnt turn off the lights in my room until I unplugged the control unit and restarted. Worked after a few minutes restarted. Temperature is difficult to regulate but not severe. The GREAT things were staff extremely helpful and really good breakfast everyday. Maid staff turned my room over in 2 minutes! Very good for the price, and the location in old market is really perfect! (1,005 reviews) This is my “go to” hotel when traveling for work in Hanoi. The staff know me and even when my flights are cancelled and I come in a day later at 11pm, they whisk me to my room quickly and assign me a very quiet room. This is like the 4th time I’ve stayed at this hotel as I much prefer this area rather than in the heart of the old quarter. It’s slightly quieter and the lake is only a 3 minute walk for those early morning walks when I’m jet lagged. Buffet breakfast is great with lots of variety and plenty of dragon fruit. Mr Do and his reception team are great and I always seriously appreciate all the little amenities offered. I used the rooftop bar for a client meeting and it worked out great. The evening staff remember me from previous trips and I appreciate all the care they take in worrying about me and asking where I’m going at 4:30 am ( gotta watch the Hanoians work out that early haha.) I also still like that there is the supermarket across the street and tons of shopping nearby. I guess I still like the cathedral neighborhood vs other areas. The gold shops are still exchanging money however the VP bank atm didn’t work with my US Capital one card. I’ll definitely be back in October! Thank you again Oriental Jade !
