(820 reviews) The front desk manager was excellent! He was very helpful and kind, knowledgeable and helpful! Breakfast bar was also decent, i tried a variation of foods, lots of dinner or lunch type of with curry and rice, you can make waffles and there are pastries or cereals. Tea and coffee were served for us after we were seated and you can also get scrambled eggs. If you are to leave earlier than the 7am open time you can request a take out breakfast, we received a croissant, mini muffins, a boiled egg, juice and milk . It is a lovely area with pools and access to the beach that are not bad for people with lower mobility. The only down side was the noise, which i dont think the resort can fo very much about we received ear plugs in our room for this noise, but i will admit it is extremely LOUD!!!!!! think hiding away from the new years eve party in the bathroom. Because of this im not sure I would stay again. But i do believe if you are a party person and live for that night life it would be the perfect spot for you, but be ready for that party to go on every single night! (324 reviews) The location is excellent - the hotel is on the cape with a private beach, with many loungers and a beach cafe restaurant and the Panwa House. All excellent views etc. We were in a suite, excellent size but... The hotel is aging. The air conditioning units, for example, must have been quite old, the plastic was faded to that off yellow colour that the old systems get. The whole property walking around was just noisy from the AC condenser units churning away. In addition, the restaurant extractor fan (a huge industrial chute) was on the outside of the room. Together, the hotel just 'hums' all the time. It's not very peaceful. Nearly everything needs to be modernised or renovated. The path to the toilets on the beach is a case in point, all crazy paving, poorly laid, some sinking into the floor, hardly 5 star, more like beach hut. In the week we were there, we cannot remember any of the cafe staff (where breakfast is served) smiling or engaging happily with the guests (except for the manager ticking off the room in the morning). We also went to the reception desk and the staff there just ignored us even though we'd been waiting, again, grumpy looks, no smiles. Poor attitude. Finally, the food...all well cooked but (and this was true for EVERY meal), the dishes turned up at random times and at least one 'hot' dish would be cold! As a supposedly 5 star hotel, the quality of the staff, facilities and the overall experience is nowhere near to achieve a 5 star review rating.
