The staff were very friendly and courteous. The area of the resort was Sant Teresa which is an artsy area and easy to get around. Transportation is very easy to get around with uber and trolly.

My stay at Hotel Arpoador was wonderful. The standard room is small, so beware if you need a lot of personal space or privacy. My priority is cleanliness and friendliness. I had no cleanliness concerns. I did not see one insect. I left a note on how I wanted my room cleaned (don't make my bed), and that was honored. Eli at the desk, Vitor at the beach, and the gentleman with locs at the front desk were very kind, cheerful, and helpful. The guy with the ponytail working on the roof on 9/27 for breakfast was very friendly and helpful also. This location was easy to uber everywhere and walkable to lot's of places in the area as well. No safety concerns. Hotel right on the beach and they provide chairs and umbrellas. Beware of beach vendors. Verify what you are paying as they tried to charge me thousands of dollars for a few drinks. Thankfully my bank declined it. This had nothing to do with the hotel though. I would 100% stay here again.

This hotel was fantastic! Breakfast buffet is elaborate, room service food was very good with 24 hour availability. We arrived at 2am and were able to order from a full menu! Bar cocktails were excellent. Spa was exceptional with reasonable prices! Beach is beautiful and safe. I can’t wait to go back!

This hotel was very safe, clean, and comfortable. However, I woukd have preferred to have a coffee/tea maker in my room instead of the minibar. The staff, especially Felipe (front desk) and Almir (breakfast server) were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. Their smiles brightened our days. The water pressure in the shower was outstanding. Housekeeping was extremely fast and responsive. The extra amenities such as personal hotel drivers were awesome for special events such as the football game between Cowboys and Ravens. The roof top pool, sauna, and gym were good to have, but the gym should be 24/7. The free breakfast buffet and filtered water was exceptional, and the afternoon buffet was good. A large variety of food with both breakfast and dinner The hotel is convenient to everything, and Felipe scheduled tours for us with Grayline Tours located at the Sheraton. The Grayline tours that we took (full tour including lunch and rainforest tour half day) were excellent. The tour guides (Eddie and Milene) were awesome. Overall, we had a blast and would highly recommend this hotel.
