Ants found in room. Breakfast was ok. Make your own espresso. Also note that the hotel is down a steep slope. That you will need to use every time you leave the hotel. They will bring your luggage down when you arrive by calling the hotel. Taxi will come directly to the hotel but road narrow.

Staff were lovely, very welcoming. Apartment was clean, well maintained and as advertised. Breakfast was lovely. Only issue for us was the need to taxis due to a lack of public transport and the walk into town wasn’t very easy. That being said we travelled with 2 children, 8 and 10

We enjoyed Donna Carmela so much we extended our stay by 2 days. All staff were gracious and helpful. We loved the sumptuous breakfast, gourmet restaurant for dinner, as well as the lounge and pool bars. After a day of sightseeing around Mt Etna and Taormina, we came back to the oasis of this lovely resort.

It is a beautiful hotel, very well located near Corso Umberto. The staff is great and diligent. The breakfast is also amazing. If you land a good deal, go for it. I cannot recommend it at the price point I paid.

Incredible property, warm staff, excellent restaurants. Great kick off to our Sicily trip.

The staff was very friendly. Checking in was wonderful. I really liked the woman at reception. The hotel was clean and modern inside, the room was a nice size. They even had a small kitchen, But! If you plan on ACTUALLY sleeping, this is NOT the hotel for you. If you want to go out late and eat and drink, it’s perfect and the location is great! Otherwise, the noise outside went on until past 3-4 am right outside the window. Even after the bars closed. Then the garbage trucks started. At some point, I opened my phone and tried white noise, brown noise, rain even the inside of a train sounds for noise canceling, nothing worked. I went into my luggage and found a small portable speaker to amplify it. It still wasn’t loud enough. I moved it around the room closest to the noise, then closest to my pillow, There was yelling and horns and loud music. It was unbearable at some point. Desperate to sleep, as I had been traveling, I found two cereal bowls in the cupboard and tried to make a small speaker amplifier putting my small speaker inside one and out the other bowl partially tilted on top with an opening facing me to magnify sound. I thought I was staying near the airport for an early flight, I didn’t know I was signing up for an on the spot engineering class. I got MAYBE an hours sleep in. But if you want to stay in the middle of town, and don’t care about sleeping at all and having the town at your doorstep this is the place for you!

Overall experience was very good. The suite was unusually decorated, large and clean. It was at the front of the hotel and there was some residual noise from the street. AC was good and housekeeping was efficient. It’s in a good location for Via Etna, Piazza Duomo and other spots and very close to a host of bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful when I needed to interact with them. The breakfast buffet was adequate but not in keeping with the style or ‘sense’ of the hotel. The restaurant struggled to keep with the demand of a lot of guests having breakfast at the same time. There was very little information about the services in the hotel. Nothing in the room or advertised around the hotel. The gym was very small.

Beautiful balcony with garden view and we could also see Castelmola! Configuration of the room wasn't the greatest. There was no space to put our second luggage but we made it work. Shower had neon florescent lighting which was different. Also, didn't really care for the shower curtain, for an upscale hotel would think there would be a glass shower door. Loved the location, walk down the stairs and you arrive at the Duomo!
