Also this time there were issues with my room - airco stopped working and toilet smell which is a shame for a hotel of this level. Last time I stayed there I had a better experience. Also, they did not even notice that it was my birthday when at an another hotel in Florence of the same chain they brought me a personal card and a bottle of Prosecco. This hotel did not notice my birthday not the lest time and not this time. What truly sets it apart, however, is the exceptional service. Check-in was seamless, transportation and dinner reservations were handled effortlessly, and every staff member I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. My room was comfortable and inviting, complete with a separate sitting area that added to its sense of calm and space. One moment perfectly captured the spirit of the place: I had a very early flight, and as I waited in the lobby for my taxi, the doorman quietly appeared with a steaming cup of coffee and two croissants—completely unprompted. That thoughtful gesture summed up my entire stay: gracious, personal, and infused with old-world care. A truly beautiful and memorable experience—I’d recommend it without hesitation. (681 reviews) Nice, clean hotel with a couple of good restaurants nearby. Difficulty with the heating and cooling of the room; had to leave the window open to cool it - could not control the temperature. It was winter time so AC was not required it was a matter of less heating. I lost our room key and, according to the hotel rules, it is a 30 Euro charge for a new, plastic room key. This is not noted when booking the hotel but is a policy on a sheet of paper at check-in. 30 Euros for a plastic card is ridiculous. No other hotel anywhere charges for a replacement card. Fortunately, the hotel agreed to waive the charge but it should never have been an issue.
