Northwest Bulgaria Cheap Holidays

I don't really know why this hotel has such a high rating. I arrived for checkin to be told they had too many late checkouts so my room wouldn't be ready and I would need to leave and come back later. When I finally was allowed to checkin (not even a 'sorry') the only two things I was asked was if I wanted to pay extra for breakfast and reminded that the mini bar was chargeable. I don't mind either of those things but at this point the hotel hadn't even delivered what I had paid for, never mind asking for extra! The room itself had damp in the ceiling, mould in the bathroom and was right over a restaurant that had outside tables so had a noise until midnight. Thankfully the air conditioning was loud enough to cover a lot of it.

A very comfortable stay - the breakfast was plentiful, I loved the Clarins toiletries and having a dressing gown and slippers in the room. The interior of the room was very modern with smart controls for lighting, curtains, and air con. Meanwhile, the interior in the lobby was very opulent and traditional. What I will say as an English speaking international guest and for a hotel introducing smart/innovative touches to it's rooms - get smart TVs. The channel selection was very limited for English speakers, but this could easily be resolved by following what a lot of hotels are doing and installing smart TVs should you wish to access your Netflix or YouTube accounts.

We only stayed here for 1 night because we came back from a trip to turkey and was flying out of Bulgaria. But this hotel was very convenient. Great and helpful staff. Stayed here with my husband and teenage daughter and got upgraded to a connecting room, our room had a queen bed and the connecting room had a double bed, it was perfect for all of us
