Sorrento Peninsula Cheap Holidays

We arrived to find the room had a very horrible sewage smell. We contacted the front desk and she attempted to remedy it by putting vinegar down the drain but unfortunately, this did not work. The smell was so bad that we were unable to stay and sit with this nauseous smell so we had to find an alternate hotel due to safety and health concerns. We attempted to get a refund after the fact from Hotels.com, but the property refused to refund the money because they blamed the smell on recent rains, even though the rains happened after we arrived, and not before, so their excuse was not valid. It’s typical of southern Europe. We live here and we know that they never like to take responsibility. It’s just how they are as a culture. So unfortunately, we’re gonna have to do a charge back on our card that we used to make the reservation. Before leaving this review, I gave them the opportunity to do the right thing but not surprising, they refused to do the right thing and refund our stay so apparently they are fine with their guests sleeping in the smell of sewage. This is the first time I’ve ever had to leave a review like this or leave a hotel so it’s disappointing that Hotels.com and the property did not do the right thing and don’t care about the health and safety of their guests. unfortunately this means I cannot use Hotels.com anymore on principal. It’s a shame when people just can’t do the right thing. On a sidenote, the staff we encountered on site were very friendly.

Nice place. Beautiful view from the top. Good location. Pool hours are not great and they closed early one day that we tried to go swimming. Breakfast is wonderful. Roof top bar is perfect and that staff was super nice. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, if you’re visiting amalfi and positano

We stayed here for 5 nights, it was a wonderful stay. The hotel is charming & very well maintained. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was lovely with ample options.Location is central with the view of the water from the rooftop & walk to the marina where the ferries leave is abt 20 mnts but there is an elevator that can take you down to that marina also if u are not in the mood to walk down.Grand Marina is also abt 15-20 mnts walk, has some nice restaurants. Lots of restaurants & shopping right outside the hotel. The Donna Sofia Restaurant just outside the hotel is a great dining option.

Centrally located hotel in old Naples - it's essentially at the Gallerie Umberto I so access to everything is easy. The staff is great, the breakfast was top notch. Rooms are large, bathroom has everything you need. This hotel is a bit tricky to find the entrance - it's in the 'alleyway' parallel to one of the arms of the gallerie. There's a large double door and the bell to ring the hotel is on the right side panel. There is an elevator with a guy who will put .10 euro in to operate -an odd feature but it works. Payment is required on a weekday. The hotel will supply the rest of the coins for you. It's free in the evenings and weekends. The central location is great for walking to most places but a taxi usually can only get to a nearby entrance to the gallerie so plan ahead. Also, the noise level on weekends can be high until midnight or one in the morning. We enjoyed our stay here.
