(2,456 reviews) We just returned from six amazing days at Excellence Punta Cana, and our hearts are still on that beach! 🌴 As total beach lovers, we were in heaven-the sand and water were absolutely beautiful and the perfect backdrop for relaxing. This was our third Excellence resort, and once again, the brand truly delivered a world-class experience. The service was beyond excellent; the staff is so incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Plus, the grounds are just gorgeous and so meticulously maintained. A pro tip: Don't miss taking a stroll through the beautiful gardens! 🦜 We also had some fantastic dining experiences! The Grill was a standout for us-you HAVE to try the smoked watermelon, it was surprisingly delicious. We also had incredible meals at The Lobster House and Chez Isabelle, though honestly, we found every restaurant we tried to be wonderful. The only tiny thing we noticed was that we missed the signature scent we remembered from the other resorts, but it didn't take away from a perfect stay. (4,541 reviews) I'll start with saying that the lobby is impressive, the property is very large and beautiful looking especially during Christmas time, the beach is gorgeous with clear water and white sand. There are plenty of tanning beds on the beach so there is no issue getting one. Same goes for the pool. That's it about what I liked. The food was average, the buffet looked like it had a good selection but in practice it was the same thing cooked or cut different ways. Some restaurants had good options but service everywhere was very slow and not attentive. They will come to you once you are seated and then will never check back on you unless you get their attention. However, everyone was very friednly and tried to accommodate the requests. The property is outdated, there are broken or missing tiles in the rooms, on the hallways, and in the pool, switches in the rooms don't work, same goes for the bathroom fan.
