Pay attention to spring break season and avoid if you’d rather not have young college “adults” all over the place drunk and throwing up in common areas. To the credit of the staff, they quickly cleaned up the vomit and kept the place in good shape, but just pointing out we had to step over or dodge vomit at least three times four times on our five day stay…one time it was in the elevator we had just walked in. Gross spring breakers! The pool with the swim up bar was too cold for most to endure. The nightly entertainment was okay day 1 but too familiar third day in. No exhaust fan/vent in showers meant hight humidity build up in bathrooms and room that took forever to clear off just running AC. Rendered mirrors in the bathroom unusable for 30 minutes to an hour. No hammocks on property, no game rooms or games like cornhole just left out around for convenient usage. When it’s gusty and cannot get into ocean, having other game activities like cornhole would be good alternative. Local vendors on the beach are at times obnoxious and overbearing with their solicitation…I get this is allowed but perhaps it needs to be tamed or corralled better so I don’t have a guy yo’ing at me several times while I am engaged in a private conversation with my bride, just to tell me about his fruity alcoholic drink for sale after I already told his business partner no thanks repeatedly. Overall Amazing place. The beaches are spectacular and pristine. We snorkled every day and every day we saw sea turtles and tons of beautiful fish. In the hotel grounds there are pools with sea turtles, rays, sawfish, sharks, etc. The waterslides are exciting even for older kids and adventurous adults, and the the rapid river is huge, wraps around the whole park area and is tons of fun. There are lifeguards all over, and lifejackets readily available for little ones. The beaches have plenty of loungers with shade covers. There are lots of options for food and drinks while you by the pool or on the beach. The pools are also numerous and beautifully designed. Lots of options for dining. Lots of nightlife as well: casino, night club, teen night club, arcade, a colonial style street scape with reataurants, stores, and cool places to grab drinks. Truly relaxing spot, and incredibly beautiful. Ok so what wasn't so great: The prices are wild...no other way to say it. This is partly due to the fact that this is an island and everything is imported (food an drink). But everyhing at Atlantis is exceptionally expensive. A pizza will set you back 70 bucks. Minigolf costs 44 dollars US per person. Why? The place was built in 1990 and is showing its age. Lots of minor repairs needed. Usually 50% of waterslides open on any given day. Overall amazing though and wonderful people. We'd go back.

The view of the beach was beautiful but the hotel was worn out and the absence of floor coverings in the rooms made it quite loud. The Coral had a lot of kids and young people and it was quite loud at night. Staff were not as friendly as the first time I visited. It is a uniquely beautiful place but I’m not sure that the price was worth it for this location. We stayed at the Royal a few years ago and it was nicer.
