(1,000 reviews) Very spacious room, helpful staff (we met Michael and the French chef at the breakfast restaurant, they are really helpful and cheerful), wonderful view Except one of the staff at the reception assumed asian (myself) should speak Mandarin, cos he only knows Japanese and Mandarin, but very little English. My husband is from England and the staff insisted to speak to me in Mandarin. I guess as a paid customer we will have to do what's convenient for the staff not the other way round right? I hold a hk passport doesn't mean I HAVE to speak Mandarin or know this language. Never Assume, we speak Cantonese in HK. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully designed—comfortable in a way that lets you fully exhale after a day of exploring. The soaker tub was a lovely touch, perfect for unwinding. The hotel is in a great location, yet remains peaceful and calm. What truly stood out, though, were the people—warm, kind, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a generous and satisfying buffet, and the guest lounge on the upper floor became one of our favourite spots. Sitting there with coffee in hand, watching the sunrise over the ocean while listening to early morning birdsong… it was a beautiful way to begin each day, especially as early risers. Tastefully decorated, serene, and quietly refined—this is a place we would happily return to.
