We were encouraged by a tour guide to book a multi-star resort hotel in the Center of Siracusa. But, our research persuaded us that a boutique hotel on the Island of Ortigia was more in line with our standards and preferences. The Algila Ortigia Charme Hotel both met and exceeded our expectations. Everything, including the Center of Siracusa was within walking distance. The morning breakfast was convenient and ample. The bar was a nice place for a nightcap and the whisky selection was excellent. Our Junior Suite was very comfortable with quiet and great air conditioning. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to enjoy the terrace and views that were connected to our room.

Beautiful hotel in central Ortigia. The room was so comfortable and the view was gorgeous to the streets below. The staff were incredibly helpful. And the breakfast was fantastic on the outdoor terrace. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here. We loved our time in the city and st this hotel.
