Oslo - Southern Norway Adventure Holidays

Much nicer than I expected. Clean, comfortable bed, very quiet, very nice staff. Good value. Be warned breakfast and the airport shuttle are extra charges (unlike in the USA). It’s refreshing to pay for what you use instead of subsidizing other people’s use of a perk you don’t want. The shuttle was still a lot less than an off hour Uber or, if you want to save even more, the public bus stop is very close and half the cost.

The hotel location is fantastic, close to shops and well serviced by bus routes (e.g less than 10 mins to museums and waterfront). The room are clean and well appointed. Unfortunately, there was loud restoration noise one of the mornings as they were changing carpets in the floor above us. They offer to give us a different room when we checked with the front desk (nice but they should not have given us the room in the first place).

10/10 all around! Clean and comfortable rooms, great hotel staff, delicious and extensive breakfast, and a great location! I would stay there again!

The location is quiet and historic, by the large ski jump used in the Olympics years ago. And on a hill above Oslo. It is near (walkable) a train into the city for commuting. There are very many lovely and cozy public areas to curl up by a fire, and even a library. The included breakfast buffet was very good with many hot and cold choices. The reception staff, especially Tommy, who checked us in, was very friendly and helpful. He even led us a short distance to show us the stairs. There is a sauna, but the outdoor pool, which was still open Sept. 12, was too cold for swimming. Our room had a spacious outdoor area. This is a fine hotel and less expensive than in central Oslo.
