Great location next to river and close to Long Street and other options. Convenient to Solidarity and WWII museums.

We had a 3 night stay in this hotel. It is a little out of the main town, approx 10 mins walk to the centre, in a mainly residential area. The reception, bar/restaurant and breakfast room were all kept clean and tidy throughout out our stay as was our room. A spacious double en-suite room in the first floor, we were lucky to have a view of the river and despite the cloudy weather during our stay we enjoyed the view. The room was quiet and at times we felt we could have been the only people on in the hotel. We had breakfast each morning and there was always a great choice with something to suit every palate. We also ate in the restaurant and this was equally well presented and delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and we would visit again if we were in Gdansk.

We have stayed numerous times at this hotel over the years whilst on business in the area and have always been very pleased with it. However, this time, we were disappointed that the hotel no longer cleans or tidies your room during your stay at all. They cite 'Eco-friendliness' as their reason for this, but obviously it is really cost-cutting. So it means that nobody makes the beds, tidies the bathroom, washes glasses in your room. Nothing whatsoever during your entire stay. Of course, we can do all these things ourselves, and we did, but what am I paying a four star hotel for then? Otherwise, the hotel is excellent, but they really do need to review this policy.

The Hanza Hotel is situated in the old town area, there is only one very small mini bus that stops yards away from the hotel and runs half hourly. If you are able to walk many other trams/buses are within 10/15mins. On entering the hotel we were greeted with a smile and the hotel looked fabulous. Check in was easy with no issues. We were given room 402 which is on the top floor over looking great views of the river. The room itself was a little outdated with the decor and furniture, however do not let this put you off staying. I would have liked to have seen more USB sockets or wall outlets given this modern age. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good nice sleep after a long day out. The breakfast was fantastic with a whole variety of hot and cold items to choose from. I would say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for breakfast. There are lots of restaurants around the area, you could be spoilt for choice, the shopping area is a 15min walk away in the main town. If I had to criticise anything there were two gripes, 1) could do with a bigger tv in the room given how far away from the bed if watching. 2) The WiFi in my room was definitely not high speed internet, lucky if I got 1mb speed. I spoke with reception who immediately resolved the problem by giving me a mobile internet device, this was about 50 times faster. I would stay here again if visiting Gdansk in the future.

Super Dom Wypoczynkowy Sopocki Zdrój !!! The hotel is modest, but it has a soul, delicious food, I will definitely go back there again
