As much as we liked the idea of staying at the Brookstreet, the actual experience was disappointing. The room was less than clean—most notably, the shower clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned, with unpleasant signs of the last guest (gross). The underground garage dripped calcium carbonate onto my BMW M car, and while the front desk offered a sympathetic “White Lotus” moment (words of sympathy without much care), that was the extent of their concern—no follow. The hotel feels tired and under-maintained. What was once a prestige property seems to be running on the memory of its reputation, with little reinvestment to justify the premium pricing. I wanted to have a more positive experience, but unfortunately they only earned two stars from me—I gave them three out of sympathy. We even filled out their guest survey. Crickets. Zero follow-up. That says a lot. Oh, and we paid $35 for two scoops of ice cream—vanilla and chocolate. The vanilla arrived completely melted, and the chocolate turned out to be banana. No attention to detail, no care. Sadly, I cannot recommend Brookstreet based on this visit
