Great sized pool on the beach but you need to walk along from there to public beach and beyond as you cannot swim from hotel beach as it is coral. Limited options to dine outside of hotel as pubs and restaurants few and far between Transport on leaving hotel difficult to arrange though tuk tuk drivers outside hotel really helpful with this

We enjoyed our time at Aliya. The pool was lovely. Only downside is that the staff were nice, but not as welcoming as the other resorts we stayed at in Sri Lanka

Be aware—- there is no elevator available and rooms and dining area on varied floors. Be ready to climb steep stairs. Nice rooms and amenities. Beautiful views of river and area walks are great. Excellent meals at buffet restaurant.

"Booked a triple room. They had to put in the extra bed. Tried to charge us for it but we insisted we had already paid for it. They finally let us have it for no extra cost. Facilities good.
