Central Ontario Adults Only Holidays

We arrived early, hence asked about an early check-in. I was given 2 options…pay a $125 fee or upgrade for an additional $60/night. The upgrade was being pushed and we ended up taking it. It was really not much of an upgrade. Slightly more spacious and it had a balcony. The room was not fully cleaned when we got there (food crumbs and overturned cushions). They then re-assigned us to another room. The beds were double size compared to queen in most other hotels. They were comfortable though. The balcony (in both rooms) was not clean, no furniture & the view was lacklustre. The shower turned off without warning. I understand it may have been on a timer but there was no information about this available. The cold water in the sink sometimes worked and sometimes did not. The coffee shop was understaffed. Only one seemed to know what they were doing. Likely not their fault, just a shortage of trained staff. Coffee tasted slightly burnt. The cleaning staff & the luggage handlers were all lovely, very friendly and helpful. I did feel maybe taken advantage of when checking in. I should have thought a bit harder, and asked for a room similar to what I booked that was ready early. It’s a very big hotel so I’m sure there would have been one.
