I arrived in Riga , there was a festival . I had to walk 1 km to get to the hotel ( parking services were offered ) as the roads were all closed ( no communication) I got to my room it was boiling hot . I came downstairs and asked them to please switch on my Aircon I took a bath and went out . I came back at 12 pm and was told we have back news . Aircon doesn’t work . I did not sleep a wink as there was blaring pounding music tell after 3 pm . I’m disgusted , exhausted and extremely tired and angry . I demand a full refund plus compensation for my suffering

The hotel's location is its biggest advantage. It's a good choice for a short city break, as you get what you pay for. The train station and most of the main tourist attractions are within a 15-20 minute walk. However, the hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The rooms and the overall atmosphere feel like stepping back 30 years. The bed was a little squeaky, but it didn't affect my sleep. I appreciated that the room included all the basic amenities, such as toiletries, a shoe brush and shoehorn, a shower cap, a comb, soap, as well as clean towels and fresh bed linen. Overall, I wouldn't rate this hotel higher than 3 out of 5 stars. The excellent location makes up for many of its shortcomings, but if you're looking for modern facilities and comfort, this may not be the best choice.

The check in process / procedure was time consuming and fiddly - that really needs sorting out, or if it cannot be sorted out easily, go back to having a reception desk! Sometimes messages to the host were replied to quickly, other times replies took ages. With the temperature for the last couple of nights it is worth noting that the apparent does not have air conditioning, there was a fan which was useful. The apartment had everything that we expected. There was confusion with luggage lockers at check out, and we were given a code to a locker that already had somone else's bag in it - something else that probably wouldn't have happened if there was a reception desk.

In a perfect location our room was spacious, clean, comfortable & quiet. For a hotel on a budget it was excellent value for money. If I were to return I would definitely stay here. The entrance was very welcoming, and although our room was a little dated it was perfect and clean for our stay. There was water in the room, soap in the bathroom and a hairdryer available too. There is luggage storage and although we didn’t see any members of staff, they weren’t needed as the instructions were very clear.
