La Ceiba Suites complex is conveniently and centrally located close to the town center of Zihuatanejo so no car is necessary as you are just steps away from all amenities. Despite being so close to town it is an amazingly private and quiet location. Within short walking distance from the condo there are too numerous to count delicious restaurants serving a broad range of tastes and prices, shopping and entertainment. If needed, taxis and buses are available to you just outside of La Ceiba Suites doors for just a few pesos. Playa Madera beach is an easy short 0.2 mile 5 minute walk from the condo and Playa La Ropa is an approximate 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus/taxi ride. La Ceiba Suites complex has a strong Mexican architectural feel with well manicured lush tropical vegetation throughout. Our condo, Casa Almendro, is a very private and spacious 1020 sqf unit found on the 2nd floor of the complex. Casa Almendro has a very spacious open air concept with Mexican architectural influences with rich tropical hardwoods found throughout the unit. There are views of the tropical landscaping from every window and from the additional two spacious balconies found in the condo. The master bedroom has a king bed with nice quality mattress and pillows, over the bed fan, in room air conditioning and in-suite full bath with tiled walk in shower and Talavera ceramic sink. Right off the master bedroom tropical hardwood french doors lead you to a large open private balcony with built in cushioned seating overlooking the lush vegetation and common area below. A second large full bath with tiled shower and ceramic Talavera sink is conveniently located off of the main living area. The main living area stays very comfortable with the 3 overhead fans and the open air balcony providing good air circulation as weas portable fans. We have two 32 inch flat screen color TV’s with mega cable in the Master bedroom and Roku set upon the living room. We have private wireless internet 50Mbps for thoseneeding to work remotely. Built in cushioned seating with numerous pillows for your afternoon siesta. The Fully equipped kitchen is perfect for renters who like to cook full meals with a 4 burner gas range, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, large supply of cookware, cooking utensils and storage containers. Off of the living room/kitchen area through accordion style hardwood doors there is a spacious open air covered balcony. It has additional built-in cushioned seating, glass dining table with four chairs and overhead fan. The dining room balcony has a view overlooking one of the two pools located on the complex grounds. Nice quality bed linens, towels & beach towels are provided to our guests. For our guests staying longer than 7 nights, a weekly maid/cleaning service and linen change is provided for no additional fee. Vanessa, our condo manager will greet you upon your arrival to La Ceiba Suites. She will introduce you to our unit Casa Almendro, give you instructions for your stay as well as answer your questions. Casa Almendro is a non-smoking unit, there is a designated smoking area outside of the complex.. The complex has two lovely generously sized pools with plenty of seating, tables and loungers. If you are flying into the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo airport, it is an approximate 15 minute taxi ride to the complex. Street parking is available to those arriving by private vehicle. Everything we needed was here: towels for pool, beach chairs and umbrellas, lilos for the pool, every utensil and dishes galore. A pack of coffee in the fridge. The area is safe, and the complex is quiet, full of trees, and 2 clean pools. Many great restaurants 5 min walk away. The communication with the owner was outstanding: prompt, helpful, and full of great tips.We will be coming back right to this condo. There was even shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Fresh, filtered water in a cooler, and it is replaced as you use it. Supermarket 10 min walk along bike path, and take a cab back if you want. From the very beginning the communication with the owners and the reception from the manager upon arrival was excellent. This place is very private, secure and in an excellent location close to the beach, shopping, restaurants and the taxis are directly across the street. Perfect for 2 people in a tropical setting with 2 nice pools. Completly equipped, including a nice Bose bluetooth stereo. It is spacious and very well equipped and it is obvious that the owners have put a lot of time into decorating and maintaining it. The condo is located in the Playa Madera area and it is within easy walking distance of shops, town, the beach and numerous restaurants. The complex is beautiful with 2 swimming pools and lots of chairs and loungers. We will be back for sure and we highly recommend this rental. ##### Mark J. Absolutely perfect location, friendly residents & staff. Great neighborhood. Liked the open air feel. The ninja professional blender was terrific and we had many delicious fresh fruit smoothies. Have returned to Zihuatanejo for many years now but this was my first stay at this wonderful spacious one bedroom condo. The condo and it's grounds are well kept, quiet and wonderfully situated close to the beach, downtown and everything that you would need for a relaxing vacation. Both Playa Madera and LaRopa is only minutes from the complex. The condo is extremely roomy, comfortable and hasd everything that you need to cook your meals if you want to stay in but as close as you are to downtown and the endless number of local fantastic eateries the short walk is easy. I would recommend this condo to any single or couple that wants to relax and enjoy this wonderful setting. I would definitely recommend Casa Almendra. Thanks for a wonderful 2 weeks. ##### Donald F. Very close to restaurants, the beach, and shopping in a safe and secure complex within a great neighborhood. The condo was exquisitly decorated and extremely clean. The owners have provided many extras to make their unit more comfortable. The management and maintenance people couldn’t be more helpful and we also appreciated two pools for when we wanted time in the adult pool. My husband and I stayed at this great condo for a full week and didn't want to go home! LaCeiba Suites is about a three minute walk to the beach and to the shops...we felt welcome by the superior staff and met some really nice people staying there as well. Each morning we enjoyed our coffee on the balcony overlooking the pool. Everyday, we swam in one of the two pools and enjoyed the wonderful, tropical feel of the well manicured grounds. In the evening, we walked to the beach and sampled the delicious seafood restaurants as we watched the sunset. Zihuatenejo has a very welcoming feeling, our vacation was very special because our stay at this clean and well maintained condo was such a great experience. Meeting Shelly the owner, upon our arrival, made us feel so welcome! The pools, tropical plantation, staff and friendly neighbours make this a very desirable location. The condo is spacious, clean and very beautifully decorated. Shelly and Don have paid great attention to details to every part of the unit. We loved the two open spaces and enjoyed many game nights out there. And the cozy King bed always felt so comfortable after our days in the warm sun! A perfect location for shopping, beaches and eating out! Great selection of restaurants near by. A real gem of a place to enjoy all the wonderful things Zihuatanejo has to offer. Pure Paradise! We just returned from a fantastic 3 week stay at Casa Almendro. We are so in love with the convenient location of this condo in the Madera area. No taxi needed as we could walk to our destinations but taxis were plentiful if needed. It is always a delight to reunite with good friends we have met over the years while coming down to Zihuatanejo. We had numerous delicious meals, several just within a couple minutes walk from the condo. Highlights for us are the abundant fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood. The dorado was on while we were there which is one of our favorite meals grilled simply with garlic. Vanessa, Casa Almendro Manager, is a gem and always helpful and responsive when anything was needed. Great vacation destination! ##### Shelley F. Shelley, our host contacted us and gave helpful information. The condo was perfect for two. Vanessa, who met us at the front was a great help and tour guide. For people who have not been to Zihuataneja, this is a great place to stay. Others you meet in the complex give great tips for food, shopping etc. There is a notebook that Shelley and Don put together with maps that help and give suggestions on what to do and see. It was great to have the pool at the bottom of the stairs. I used this frequently to relax and stay cool. The balcony was a great place to hang and enjoy just being there. We did some exploring but mostly just relaxed and got the much needed break. This was just the place to do it. ##### Elizabeth C. The condo is very comfortable with inviting balconies where you can relax and read or just listen to the birds and enjoy the tropical plants surrounding the two lovely pools. With shops, restaurants, and beaches so close we were able walk everywhere. We only took a cab once and that was to La Perla restaurant on Playa La Ropa. There we spent the day under a palapa reading, having refreshments and food, enjoying the ocean breezes, and watching the friendly local families having a great time. Shelley is very easy to work with and very responsive to our enquiries. Vanessa, the property manager, is so sweet and helpful. We really enjoyed Zihuatanejo, more than other Mexican vacation spots that we have visited, and Ceiba Suites is the nicest place that we have stayed at in Mexico. This was our first time in Zihua and would love to come back and stay longer. Thank you for making our first visit so restful. ##### Marilyn S. Stayed 7 nights in Apr 2017 Archival ### 10/10 Excellent #### Gord & JoAnn H. 3 Jun 2015 #### Gojo Casa Almendro was our holiday haven for 3 wonderful weeks during the May off season.The VRBO descriptions and reviews of this unit are all exactly as stated.The location is so ideal for everything from beaches ,grocery shopping, restaurants ,markets,the town basketball court etc.,all easy walks.We were able to work out at a nearby gym for only $20 /month.The weather was great ,although quite humid,luckily the bedroom had A/C for easier sleeping. The complex having 2 pools is nice,though during our stay ,we were basically the only people using them.We appreciated the very well stocked kitchen,the open spacious plan of the unit ,as well as all the bedroom storage and the in unit safe.Dealing with Shelley the owner ,and Vanessa,her on site manager and the La Cieba staff,was easy and professional .In all this was a wonderful holiday experience for us . ##### Gord & JoAnn H. It is clean, spacious, private (second floor corner unit) and well-equipped. The grounds are lush and well-maintained, and it is within walking distance to many restaurants and the downtown. La Ropa Beach is a short bus or taxi ride away, and it is a beautiful place to spend time relaxing, walking or enjoying the surf. This was our second stay at La Cieba, and we enjoyed it as much as the first. It is a hidden gem and worth considering if you are looking for a truly Mexican holiday. The people who live in Zihuatanejo are extremely friendly and helpful, but brush up on your Spanish if you want to make your stay even more enjoyable. Last year our visit coincided with Easter and the city was pretty crowded with families on holiday. This year we arrived before Easter, and the city and beaches were fairly deserted until Palm Sunday. Shelley is great to work with; she responds promptly throughout the rental process.
