Charming rooms with old fashioned furniture. The staff was very nice and helpful and the sunset bar is definitely worth a visit. L'hôtel est infesté d'insectes. Il est impossible de fermer l'œil sans se demander si on ne va pas être piqué en pleine nuit. Les chambres sont situées sous le café restaurant qui joue la musique jusqu'à 1 heure du matin. Les chambres équipées de fenêtres qui ne se ferment pas complètement, donnent également côté rue qui est très fréquentée avec un trafic dense de véhicules. J'ai rapporté mes mécontentents au Manager qui m'a dit que l'hôtel appartient à l'état qui ne souhaite pas faire d'importants travaux. Africa House n'est pas hôtel. Par ailleurs, ils pratiquent des prix qui ne sont pas à la hauteur de l'établissement. Hele hotellet er meget slidt. Vi kunne ikke få Rene håndklæder med det samme de beskidte var afhentet, da hotellet sagde at de kun havde 1 sæt til hver værelse og vi måtte derfor vente til de var vasket på et vaskeri i nabolaget og hentet. Vi måtte rykke for håndklæderne, da vi var vendt hjem fra stranden sidst på eftermiddagen og skulle have et bad. Vi fik dog kun 2 badehåndklæder og måtte igen bede om 1 til hænderne og 1 til at stå på når vi kom ud fra brusebadet- brusebadet foregik i et badekar som ikke var tæt ved gulvet, så det var vand ud på hele gulvet efter bad. Til morgenmaden var kaffen lunken og det kogende vand var også lunken, dette måtte vi sige flere gange. Møblerne vi sad i på terrassen i restauranten var møg beskidte, hynderne var udover de var beskidte fugtige. Det fælles toilet som ligger på etagen ved restauranten var også beskidt og med vand på gulvet flere steder. Jag mailade om att få en gratis upphämtning på flygplatsen (det ingår). Det tog 1 vecka innan de svarade efter en reminder från min sida. Väl på flygplatsen var det ingen och mötte mig...blev tvungen att ta en vanlig taxi...hotellet gav mig ingen kompensation för det. Really nice view from the restaurant where the food was very good. The staff were also very nice and welcoming. The bar was located above my room which meant loud music until the early house of the morning, followed by staff dragging furniture across the floor to set up for breakfast. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer entspricht den 50er oder 60er Jahren (bis auf WLAN und Flatscreen) und die öffentlichen Bereiche gleichen einem Museum. Das Hotel ist Teil der Stadtführungen die man überall buchen kann. Super friendly staff! ##### Rambart Stayed 1 night in Jul 2019 ### 6/10 Okay #### Tarik 27 Jul 2019 Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis/abgewohnt In Stonetown, wo ich in unzähligen Hotels übernachtet habe, fiel leiderdieses Mal die Wahl auf das Africa House Hotel: die Schiebe-Fenster sind nicht komplett verschließbar; die Klimaanlagen sind sehr laut; die Steckdosen funktionieren nur teilweise und sind ungünstig gelegen; die Kissen sind wahlweise zu hart oder zu weich; die Zimmer mit „Seeblick“ zeigen zur Hauptstraße, wo eine Holperschwelle die ganze Nacht JEDEN Autoreifen hören lässt! Wenn man ein Zimmer mit Stadtblick hat, ist leider wenig mehr als das Nachbarhaus zu sehen; am ärgerlichsten ist, dass das Hotel direkt neben einer Bar und der Discothek „Tatu“ liegt, die beide bis spät in die Nacht ihre leistungsstarke Musikanlage laufen lassen und ein Einschlafen unmöglich machen. Ärgerlich ist auch, dass das Duschwasser das Zimmer unter Wasser setzt. Unser Wunsch, das Zimmer wegen des Lärms zu wechseln, wurde dankenswerterweise erfüllt. Ungewöhnlich war, dass das Zimmermädchen ein Stück Seife und die zwei Flaschen Wasser aus dem neuen Zimmer entfernen musste, weil wir es angeblich im ersten Zimmer schon genutzt hätten – was bezüglich der Wasserflaschen falsch war und bei Kosten von 20 Cent pro Flaschen unangemessen schien. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist klein, aber in Ordnung (Obst, Omelette, Müsli, Kaffee/Tee, Brot, Marmelade). Das Personal ist bemüht, aber sprachlich eingeschränkt. Ich würde dieses Hotel nicht wieder buchen, sondern nur für einen Blick von der Bar besuchen.
