Treetop by Eight Continents Zanzibar exceeded all our expectations. It is an excellent choice for solo travellers, couples and families, and in my opinion, this resort is seriously underrated.
From the moment we stepped onto the hotel premises, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was friendly, kind and attentive throughout our stay. A special thank you to Ally, who helped my wife organise a beautiful surprise dinner for us by the beach. It was an unforgettable experience and showed just how far the staff are willing to go to make their guests feel special.
The entire hotel was extremely clean and well maintained, and the food was absolutely amazing. The resort is also very family-friendly, with a dedicated kids’ zone to keep children entertained while parents relax and enjoy their holiday.
The prices were surprisingly affordable for the quality of the accommodation, service and overall experience. The photographs online do not do this place justice at all. Seeing the hotel in person was mind-blowing—it was even more beautiful and impressive than the pictures suggested.
Treetop by Eight Continents Zanzibar truly deserves a five-star rating. We had an incredible stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

Our stay at Diamonds Mapenzi Beach had several positive aspects. The location is good, the pool area is nice, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay.
That said, there are a few points worth being aware of. The rooms appear more worn in reality than the pictures suggest, which detracts from the overall impression. In addition, the food unfortunately falls below expectations. Considering the price, the culinary experience could have been significantly better. This becomes particularly noticeable when compared to similar hotels in destinations such as the Seychelles or Cape Verde, where the food standard is often higher within the same price range.
It is also worth mentioning that the Hotels.com Gold benefits (Early/Late checkout, Upgrade) do not seem to apply here (even when listed on confirmatio). However, this appears to be more an issue with Hotels.com rather than the hotel itself.
Overall, a perfectly acceptable place to stay, but somewhat overpriced for the experience it offers.

The property is amazing. The restaurant needs improvement in terms of variety and quality of pastries, especially. Breakfast was just fine. Extra services are in my opinion, over priced.

"Stayed one night after a late night arrival to the airport before moving on to a resort hotel. I made arrangements with the hotel to be picked up at the airport.
