Find hotels in Zalesina from £51

The best area to stay in Zalesina is generally within the main village itself or in one of the nearby, slightly elevated hamlets overlooking the valley.

The main village of Zalesina is a compact community located in a green valley, known for its traditional stone houses and the peaceful Zalesina stream running through it. It's a great base for exploring the surrounding nature, with footpaths leading directly from the village into the forested hills. The local church and a small village shop are central points.

Couples looking for a quiet escape will find the main village appealing. It offers a relaxed pace of life, with opportunities for gentle walks and enjoying the natural surroundings. Many properties here feature private terraces or gardens, great for unwinding.

For families, staying in one of the hamlets just above the main village, such as those towards the edge of Risnjak National Park, can be a good option. These locations often provide more spacious accommodation, sometimes with larger gardens or even private pools, while still being a short drive from the village amenities.

The best time to visit Zalesina is during the shoulder seasons, specifically late spring (May to early June) or early autumn (September to early October).

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, great for enjoying the outdoor activities and natural beauty of Primorje without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. The sea is warm enough for swimming, and you'll find it easier to book accommodations and secure restaurant reservations.

Families travelling with children might find early June or September particularly appealing. The sea temperatures are comfortable for swimming, and many local attractions are still fully operational but with fewer visitors, making for a more relaxed experience. You can enjoy the beaches and explore the surrounding area at a more leisurely pace.

For couples seeking a tranquil getaway, late May or early October offers a romantic setting. The landscapes are beautiful, and you can enjoy peaceful walks along the coast or through the olive groves.
