About the Area
Nestled just 4 miles inside the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is the charming and historic town of Wawona. Located at the base of Chilnualna Falls (the second highest vertical drop waterfall in Yosemite), and home to the principal trailheads into the southern Yosemite wilderness, Wawona is also the closest town to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. Wawona has the feel of a small town but is bustling with activity! Over 160 residents, including Yosemite Park employees, live in Wawona and can be seen gathering at the town's community center, playing a pickup game of basketball at the elementary school, jogging on one of the many picturesque trails, or simply walking their dogs and baby strollers through the winding residential streets. The historic Wawona Swinging Bridge boasts the best natural water slide in the Park! The historic village is filled with docents, stagecoach rides, horseback rides, and barn dances in the summer season and the Wawona Meadow Loop offers year round riparian meadow wildlife viewing. Wawona was known to the local Native American Miwok in their language as Pallachun (a good place to stay). It is located entirely within Yosemite National Park (it preceded the founding of the park as a national recreation area) and is located on the South fork of the wild and scenic Merced River, on the main highway (State Route 41) from Fresno to Yosemite Valley. Galen Clark, who helped gain preservation legislation for Mariposa Grove and what later became part of Yosemite National Park, occupied the Wawona area in 1855 and established a tourist rest and modest ranch which he later sold and made into a hotel and resort property (the Wawona Hotel). The Wawona post office was established in 1878 and was originally called Clark's Station. The Redwoods In Yosemite has over 120 vacation rental homes and is proud to say that all of them are located in Wawona. All are within walking distance to everything that Wawona has to offer and every one of them is surrounded by the majesty of Yosemite National Park!

My in-laws and I loved stayed here! There was plenty of room for all of us and it was close proximity to all of the sites we wanted to see in Yosemite! The oven wasn’t working upon arrival and 20 minutes after I called the office, maintenance was there to fix it. Great customer service!
Plenty of room, well equipped home in a great location
The house was well equipped and spacious and easily handled our family group of 14. Plenty of bed space as well. The Redwoods is a calm and serene settlement inside the park which was ideal. The staff was amazingly responsive, dropping off a tank of propone for the grill less than 10 minutes after I called. All in all an excellent experience, one I highly recommend,
The cabin was very roomy! It was perfect for our 4 families with 8 adults and 6 kids! It was very well equipped. I would say that we could have used more cabinet space for food with 4 families but everything worked out and everyone enjoyed their stay. We played chess and other games as well as putting together a few puzzles. The river was close so lots of water time! Not far from the Valley, Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove!
My family and I, a total of 17 people, love to vacation together and this year we wanted to try yosemite. This place was amazing. It really had it all. Big space for all of us tp cook and hang out together along with a room for everyone to enjoy their privacy.
The kids loved playing games inside and exploring outside.
The adults loved eating and talking around the living room, kitchen, and specially outside in the balcony.
This place was very clean. The market was within walking distance for making any last minute purchases you might have forgotten. And the hike to the swinging bridge and watering hole was about a 25 minute walk.
We would really consoder this place again next time we visist.
My research group and I spent 3 days for a lab retreat. The Lodge was perfect, plenty of beds, plenty of room for everyone's privacy, a big common space for dinner and discussing, playing board games and chatting about science. Everything was easy (check in, check out) and in good conditions. Will recommend!
This house was perfect for 3 families with 7 kids total ranging in age from 6-12. The kitchen was well appointed, there were plenty of bathrooms, beds, towels, and space for everyone to spread out and do their own things. Highlyrecommend for big groups!
There were 10 of us and we loved the house. The kitchen and living area are perfect for a large group. And the bedrooms clustered in three different wings of the home made it easy to get some privacy and good sleep. The kitchen is well stocked. All of us commented repeatedly how much we loved the house. Clean and comfortable with everything you need for a perfect stay. Check in and check out was easy. Everything went according to plan
This was a beautiful house in Yosemite. It was cozy and warm and had great touches that made it feel welcoming and homey. Only complaint is that the house did not have any shampoo, and ran out of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and garbage bags early on in our 3 night stay.
Rented this place with 3 families. Loved the location. Had some nice hikes around the house. Management company running the property was quick and handled our issues in a timely manner. Very thankful for that. Will stay here again in the future if possible.
Clean and tidy house. Well equipped kitchen. Slight leak on the dishwasher wea immediately attended to by the maintenance crew. Good size deck and grill.
Great location and property. Right inside of Yosemite park and close to attractions like Mariposa Grove and walking distance to Chilnualna Falls.
The house was well stocked, clean and rooms were comfortable with enough beds for 18 people. Large kitchen and plenty of counter space. Great deck for hanging out and eating. The only downside was that the basement area was damp.
Cabin served us well for our needs. Had all the necessities. Could use some updating though. Downstairs is definitely colder than upstairs. Overall would return. Very comfortable

Excellent cabin within walking distance of bridge and wide stream
Originally chosen for 10 male adults for a company retreat, we ultimately had 6 persons in attendance. The house was beautiful and suited us well with plenty of room to spare. The reoccurring commentary was that each of the guys wanted to return with their families in the near future. Would recommend to friends and family!
10 of us stayed in this spacious and well equipped home for 6 days. My brothers and kids came from all over the US and met here and loved it all. The bedrooms were perfect for our needs and the kitchen was huge and easy to use for our dinners together every night. The only drawback was there were limited paper goods so bring your own paper towels, aluminum foil, etc.
There were 11 of us staying for a family vacation. Plenty of rooms for all. Nice set up. Nice kitchen and fireplace. Mariposa Grove is a short drive. My daughter hiked to Swinging Bridge from the cabin. Pine Tree Market was very close to pick up some extra supplies. The neighborhood was very walkable. We all had a great time.

Fun with friends
We visited yosemite with 10 other friends. There were 12 of us seniors who shared the Legends home for four nites. It was spacious and just what we needed after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. We enjoyed preparing meals in the newly remodeled kitchen. It was a well stocked kitchen with every gadget one would need. Beds were comfortable and there was not one complaint about anything. I received several compliments on what a great job I did on finding this wonderful home for us to use. Thank you for the opportunity to use it.
We had a truly great snow getaway. There was enough room for the adults and kids to spread out and play. We got a little snow the last day, but it was a short drive up hill the other days to play in the snow which also allowed us to enjoy some short hikes right outside the cabin. Our only issue was lack of cleaning agents. With a big party we ran out of dishwasher tabs and there was no laundry detergent and no broom to sweep. So bring your own cleaning gear and it is a great place. We plan to return.

Great Cabin for Family Reunion
We planned this cabin for our family reunion and the size was perfect for a huge family like mines. Kitchen was beautiful and had all the equipment we needed to cook for a huge family, they also have a propane grill outside on the patio. Beds were comfortable. Lots of space to move around so we wouldn't annoy each other too much. Lots of areas to explore around the cabin. Beautiful nights under the clear sky. Rivers and hiking trails all around. A short 20min drive back to Oakhurst to do some grocery shopping. Some issues we had were, we went during the summer and it's very hot! 90-100+ degrees all the days we were there. There was no A/C, only wall mounted ones on the top floor which didn't reach down to the lower levels so during the day/night when we arrived back at the house after exploring the cabin would be hot. We brought a lot of food to cook and had food in the refrigerator but the refrigerator didn't keep our food cold. Over night the refrigerator would get cold then the next day it wouldn't keep anything cold anymore and everything in the freezer would melt. I'm assuming this is due to the cabin being very hot during the day and people keep opening and closing the refrigerator. This issue would probably be addressed if the whole cabin had A/C so the refrigerator wouldn't have to work so hard to keep cold. Overall i wouldn't mind staying here again and would recommend this cabin!
Home was perfect for our large group of 11 kids and 5 adults. Everything was clean and beds were comfy. Kitchen had a large table for eating and the big living room accommodated our group.
One thing to note- oven had issues. Two of the burners didn’t work at all and the top oven (of double oven) didn’t warm up all the way. We did call maintenance and they said they would come fix but never did. We were able to cook ok but might have planned different meals if we had known oven didn’t fully work. Also could not find any oven mitts so had to use wash rags.
But overall location and space were great and I would recommend.
