Please be advised that the parking IS NOT on site but a 12-15 minute walk and even then it’s in a secure parking lot with no direction of where to park and we unfortunately parked in someone’s space without knowing. Will not suit anyone with mobility issues. Sadly, the apartment is tired- lots of repairs needed attention. For example, the shower hose was split in so many places it sprayed all over the floor. The plug sockets from previous guests were blocked with broken plugs so unusable. The apartment is clean and tidy and ideally located for sightseeing around York. There's a nice pub opposite and a Sainsburys right at the end of the road. Check-in is very simple and even though it's a ground floor place there's hardly any noise from the outside. We struggled with the check in initially as the instructions email were sent to my junk email, but the host was very helpful and explained over the phone all the details required and offered a later check out due to the hassle. But what we got was more stressful than it was worth. One of the major issues was a lack of hot water. The instructions state to turn on the Heat Boost for 2 hours per day. We did this, and this gives you around 10 minutes of hot water (if that) which was barely enough for one of us to have a shower. Even if you set it to boost again, it doesnt heat the water up instantly, so youd have to wait at least 2 hours for the 2nd person to shower, which is impossible when we had days out planned every day. Every day we stayed here, one of us had a mostly warm shower and the other person either had to miss out, or had an ice cold shower. We even messaged the owners of the apartment, who didnt seem to care. All we got was "We've never had any problems in the past!" as if we were to blame, and then afterwards we just got ignored. Frankly, the customer service is terrible. I suggest that the apartment gets checked regularly between guests in future to make sure its in working order. We were unable to access the property as we were not given accurate information on location of the keys. I contacted the phone numbers provided and left multiple messages to say we couldn't access the property.(Your email states to call these numbers should we encounter any problems) No one answered or returned our calls. Some time later another resident was able to assist and we eventually accessed the property. This spoilt our day as we didn't know what to do and were potentially going to end up going back home. The property itself was in a good location unfortunately the 'free parking ' was very inconvenient with a lot of hassle (we don't expect whilst trying to enjoy a weekend break) between where we had to park and transport our bags to the apartment. We were not advised that the parking was off site until after we booked and paid for the stay (Easy to see why, given how far away the parking was) Be aware that the parking is only included during check in and out times. We arrived in the morning to spend the day in York and make the most of it so had to pay £20 to park for the day. I still haven't had any response to messages I left which is very poor. The lack of response was the worst of all!
