This beautiful and spacious 1 bedroom flat is set within a brand new development in Layerthorpe. The elegant interior is beautifully finished, featuring modern furnishings and all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay in the city. Fresh towels, linens and essentials are provided at the beginning of your stay. There is a Smart TV and free internet. The Space: This modern, stylish apartment is finished to a high standard and designed for comfort. The open-plan living space includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, comfortable sofas, and a Smart TV — perfect for relaxing after a busy day. High-speed WiFi is available throughout, ideal for streaming or remote work. The spacious bedroom features a comfortable bed with hotel-quality linen and ample storage. The contemporary bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, toilet, sink, fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries. A sofa bed for 1 guest can be prepared in the living area upon request (additional fee applies — please select 3 guests when booking). Guests also have access to the communal gym in the building opposite. The development offers a dedicated concierge and 24/7 CCTV in communal areas for added security. Guest Access: Guests have sole private access to the apartment. The Neighborhood: Located in the heart of York, it's just a 5 minute walk to the city centre, where you will find an array of shops, bars, restauants and historical attractions. York Minster, the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe and the Jorvik Viking Centre are just a 10 minute walk away, whilst York Castle Museum can be reached in just 20 minutes on foot. You are also well placed to access the historic city walls, which you can walk around and get the best view of the city free of charge. There's also an Asda and a large Morrisions supermarket just around the corner from the apartment. Getting Around: Being so centrally located, most areas of the city are easily explored on foot. Should you wish to rest your legs there are bus routes that service the nearby main road, and local taxi services. The main York Train Station, with links to other UK cities, is around a 25 minute walk away, or a short taxi ride. Other Things to Note: There is a sofa bed for 1 person in the living area that can be made up upon request before arrival, for an additional fee (please select 3 guests when booking). The kitchen is fully equipped with all the basics that you will need during your stay. Hairdryer, vacuum, iron and ironing board are available. Please note you must confirm your check in time at least 24 hours in advance of your arrival. If you are delayed by more than one hour from the agreed time, an additional charge of £10/hr will be applicable. I had to call at the airport to find out about the check in process, because no one e-mailed me back. VRBO e-mail system did not work for this property. No one explained simple things like how to work the lock on the front door. This lock is different than any lock in the United States. Poor cooking utensils. Slippery tub with no grab bars in the bathroom. No one explained or left instructions on how to use the oven or washer. Bathroom handheld shower head was loose. Drain was clogged with hair. No instructions on how to check out and no one calls back within an acceptable time to answer questions. Batteries in the thermostat did not work. Heat in the first apartment did not work, so we were moved to a second apartment where the batteries in the thermostat were bad. Furniture looks nice, but uncomfortable. These apartments need a woman's touch or someone who knows how to reproduce the comforts of home. Would not stay here again until major changes made, especially with the service end of things. Felt like we were on our own in this apartment. No one knew how to answer our questions. ##### wendy f.
