Great location & Amazing staff
The staff in that hotel is beyond nice and helpful. They try to do the best they can at all time. For Yangon standards, this is a great place to stay with a great value for money.

Disappointing stay
There was no hot water and they did not tell us at the check in. We complained and after many calls we have been given with a $8 discount (which is nothing compared to the price paid for the room). The sheets were dirty, probably someone slept there and they didn’t change them. Breakfast disappointing. It’s not a 4-star hotel.

Hotel gives you a water dispenser and glasses instead of bottled water (and you get more drinking waters as a result). Also no disposable shampoo and conditioner bottles. This is great for Myanmar!

Local Staff are very friendly, helpful and they can speak English well. Pleasure experience. Room are clean, bathroom water are strong to make you fresh after a day out. Do inform them if u have any thing to feedback before u put negative review. Local there are hardworking so do give them all a chance

Nice Boutique Hotel
Bottom line up front: I liked this hotel, would stay here again in the future, and would recommend it to others. Pros: Great View from the rooftop and nice setting for rooftop bar (did not use as it rained every night during our stay - but I can see to potential in it). Awesome breakfast with the ability to special order off a menu in addition to the buffet. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows and a good AC. Wonderful staff that was extremely helpful - especially the concierge staff. Good location near several tourist attractions. Shower head could be placed above 2 meters making it comfortable for tall people like me. Nice art on the walls. Cons: Lots of noise and traffic around the hotel, especially in the mornings. The shower curtain did a poor job containing the water and left the entire bathroom floor covered in water.

Fabulous roof top terrace with great view of the Shwe Dagon Pagoda. Friendly, accommodating staff. Excellent breakfast selection with buffet and a la carte menu items. Centrally located, with clean, spacious rooms. Such a wonderful experience, highly recommend this hotel!

The shower room will flood during shower time. Air conditioning and refrigerator is not cold at all even after complaint. More than 4 staff working at the breakfast buffet area but none serve cutlery to you, just wonder around. Some of the food at the breakfast counter have small fruit fly, but none action taken. Tea spoon in the room is not clean have to wash and clean yourself after the room cleaning service, so as the towel were found with stains.

The location was great and it was a good attempt at a modern hotel. The rooms were nice enough. The roof top bar could be great, but was OK... typically Asian with a temporary looking bar and set up 😁

Hotel is 3 stars - overated and overprized in inconvenient location. I’m wondering if positive reviews are fake or paid. Bad reviews are correct: Sewer smell every day, located on narrow road away from everything except one pagoda

Good hotel near the pagoda
Simple but great hotel. Only a short walk to Shwedagon Pagoda. Breakfast is pretty good as you can order from the menu which has a variety of options such as pancakes, fried eggs, toasties etc. Roof top area is nice in the evenings to look at the Pagoda too. If you can pay the slight extra and go for a room with a window, it makes a difference!

Bedroom tiny and without window. There are other bedrooms with window in the hotel, but you have to pay an extra, so pay attention of what kind of room you're booking. Another problem in my opinion is the shower with no glass door. You take a shower and the whole bathroom (also tiny) get completely wet. Positive point: the bed is comfortable The locations is good, and the breakfast is also a positive point.

The hotel is very basic. It sits in the heart of the residence area of Yangon. And it's walking distance to Shwedagon. But the room is very small and shower is broken.

Best deal in Yangon. It was my 4th stay and I continue to be impressed. Impossible to find nicer hotel staff. The breakfast is excellent. The top floor view of the Pagoda is fantastic. The artwork - well, you'll need to see to believe. Always taxis available. The facility is extremely clean. I'm in Asia often and have stayed at all types and sizes of hotels. The Merchant Art is by far the best overall experience. BTW, check out the Yangon Bakehouse - it's a restaurant which supports the plight of migrant women. Excellent lunch.
