The machiya is large, beautiful, elegant, and very comfortable...we could spread out and relax. We loved our short stay in the refurbished traditional home. As designers, we appreciated the architecture and tasteful decor. The traditional bathroom, with soaking tub, had lovely amenities. The garden is a delight. We had a great stroll around town and visited both the castle and the Shoyu Museum, which was very interesting. Would highly recommend Villa Kurasu. Beautiful home, host/innkeeper was very nice. It's challenging to get a taxi/driver, so if you don't have a car, be prepared to walk to the train station."
